toaster oven to buy

I want to heat up steamed vegetables primarily maybe some grains or beans, toast some bread no baking or anything fancy...just a quick lunch
This is for work and I want something that isn't too big since I dont want it obvious.
I know nothing about toaster ovens...perhaps digital is better, or a timers imp.
If you know a specific brand/model that has worked well please let me know.

I just recently bought a new toaster oven..after being annoyed by black and deckers not lasting and burning everything i made in it I looked around for a different brand..I bought an Oster. It was about $50. It's larger than than the black and decker (which is really nice), looks sharp and cooks food PERFECTLY, even has a warm feature on it which is nice.

this specific "model" is only carried by bed bath and beyond, but Im sure Oster's other models are just as good.
It might be too big to be not obvious at work..is there a kitchenette that perhaps you can "share" your toaster oven?

OK, people find me strange. I desperately wanted a toaster oven so bought mine at Costco in January 2006. Yes, 2006 and I just opened the box and put it on my counter a week ago. I didn't really have a kitchen but now I do as I had everything ripped out of the old one and a new one installed. Now I have counter space. Haven't tried it yet but I have heard great things about Oster. It is also a convection oven and holds a pizza.
I bought it back then because I got Costco gift cards that Christmas so it was free for me.

I think it was $99.00 Canadian. I will be trying it in the next couple of days. The great thing is cooking a pizza because to heat a big oven for a 12 inch pizza seems like a waste.

Years ago I got a second hand toaster oven and never used it so gave it away. Just like I never used a crockpot that I bought new. Had just high and low and if I got home late, it would cook and cook and cook. It is going in the garage sale. I just bought a programable crock pot, also an Oster and have used it three times in the last week and a half to cook two nights worth of critter meals. Oster has a very good reputation so I don't think you can go wrong on what model you choose.
My crockpot was $79.99 Canadian and I had $41.35 in Canadian Tire money so another bargain! :-)

We bought a digital one not too long ago, and the timer sound was OBNOXIOUS! It was so loud it woke me up in bed way down the hall. We returned it and opted for one with the turning timer knobs. It was only 20 bucks at Target-not too big. Makes good toast, but it takes sort of a long time. Chefmate is the brand.
Di- we saw one similar to that Oster at the store when I was shopping....I was really tempted to get it but it was a bit too big for where the space is.
I'm very happy with mine so far, I didn't realize in all my years buying black and decker that toast isn't supposed to be burnt :D
I think ill be seeking out the Oster brand in the future for my small stuff..
I guess Oster makes Mr. Coffee?? I said ooh look they make coffee makers..the first coffier that popped on on their site is the EXACT one I have except the "brand tag" on the front says Mr. Coffee on mine..
edit: I just noticed in was on the Oster canada site..apparently a company called jarden corp owns a bunch of "houseware" type companies including Oster and Mr. Coffee..so it makes sense..here it's marketed as Mr Coffee, in Canada under Oster..

I've been using that model for about a year now. We got it at Macy's on extreme clearance ($11??) a few years ago. I don't have any complaints. I admit I don't know how to do anything on it other than toast things, but that's what we use it for. It's kinda hard to clean in all the nooks, but who really cleans a toaster? ...besides me. Happy with that one..if it's still available somewhere.
I like a certain feature more than a model. I like having a dial to set the toast darkeness and a button to start the time. I use the same toastedness so hitting a button is easy. I thought I was going to have to replace mine (but I fixed it) and noticed they're now all-knob. Boo. button = good

Hi, veggydog! Yes, I'm still quite satisfied with my Cuisinart. I've cooked/baked everything in it--cookies, cakes, granola, casseroles, baked tofu, pizza, etc. If all I was looking to do was make toast and reheat pizza, I'd go with a cheap model. If, like me, you want to use it as a small oven, then I definitely recommend my Cuisinart convection toaster oven. I bought mine at Bed, Bath, & Beyond with one of their 20% off coupons.

I ended up getting the Breville BOV650XL: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=17155709 with a 20% off coupon. It's a bit smaller than willwolf's, although it still takes up too much of my precious counter space (that's bench space to you Kiwis ;)). Consumer Reports likes it and it had tons of great reviews online. It's very nice. I successfully baked/broiled a sub for dinner last night, and I made perfect toast this morning on the first try.
I went grocery shopping right after BB&B. Tofurky pizzas were on sale and I almost bought one, just to try cooking it in my new oven. ;D But I thought better of it.

Haha! Yes it is. I probably went overboard, as a result of doing too much research. But I think it will be nice to use it instead of the big oven for a lot of things.
bumping this thread because i am searching for a good crockpot and toaster oven to use. i have three kids and they are learning to cook their own personal meals. i would like something that isn't hot to the touch so that we don't have to worry about accidental burns, even with parental supervision.
