Roads End Mac n' Chreese

What does everyone think of it? It is absolutely delicious. That's what i made for dinner tonight.

I always wanted to buy some--but then I don't...I should pick some up--do you have to order it online or do they sell it at Whole Foods too?

It is pretty good. I'm not sure it they sell it at whole foods, probably. They did sell it at Smiths in Riverton, Wyoming.

I like the 123z flavor, but almost all the mixes, for me, are lacking sauce =/ I like the individual packets of "cheddar" from them too, but not much else.

it's a little bland, I always add garlic salt, but it's nice and fast when you get home after a long day and just want comfort food. Add to the product review!!

I have an extra box I should send you, I thought it was terrible!

Hee hee, I found it in a store here in New Zealand!  8-)  I had to add about four times the unmilk to make it saucy, but once I did, the flavour and texture were grand. Yumbles. Only thing is - that strange orange American-Cheddaresque colour freaked me out a bit.  ;D

It tastes good, but tastes nothing like mac and cheese to me. I don't know why recipes for NY cheese always contain spices like garlic in them. I don't know about everyone else, but I never added spices to my cheese when I was lacto-veg. I like NY cheese sauces with just NY, rice milk, cornstarch and salt. That tastes a lot more authentic to me. *shrugs*

I dunno, the garlic adds a certain savouryness to the dish that I (usually) like. sometimes I use more, sometimes less. But no - I never added garlic/spice to my ol' vegetarian mac'n'cheese either. Except, of course, for heaps of freshly ground black pepper.  :)>>>

oh my gosh, i just had the 123's mac & cheeze and it was unbelievable! i thought it tasted exactly like the boxed gourmet kind. very rich and creamy,  and cheesy. not a strong nooch flavor at all. even my male friend (who dislikes anything vegan) who had no idea it was dairy-free thought it was delicious. crazy!

i added unsweetened almond milk (about 1/2 cup), fresh chives from the garden, cracked black pepper, and frozen peas. but really, it would have been perfect plain!  :)>>>

I wonder if it would be worth the $3 (or something ridiculous like that) to try some of this stuff. Or is a make at home version just as good/better?

it's not, in my opinion.  I sent my box to pretty in punk!

I thought it was ok.  I added steamed broccoli and peas to it.

I tried the one with the pasta shells. Eh. It's OK. Nothing I would buy again.

maybe its just me because i havent had macaroni and cheese in so long? or because i prefer a more chees-y sauce than a nutritional yeast sauce? but i left it on the stove for about 30 mintues to keep it warm so maybe that made a difference. i've also never tried homemade vegan mac and cheese so i will have to do a comparison. but i would reccomend it if you want a quick, easy meal. ive read other wonderful reviews about the 123's but the original and shells are a different story. (the 123's actually turn the sauce orange and its more cheesy. but i understand how this could be a turn off to some vegans)
