Makeup

Just a curiousity I had - how many of you wear makeup? Any tips? Do you do the full regime or maybe just some shadow and gloss? What do you use?

I fall in the "Sometimes" category. I used to do eye shadow and lipstick everyday, but I've fallen out of the routine and now just occassionally put on some shadow or maybe a little foundation if I'm not liking a zit that day. ;D I've pretty much foregone lipstick or gloss though unless I just wanna make a nice first appearance, because it ALWAYS wears off after a couple hours even without drinking or eating, and it's just not worth it to me to put it on repeatedly. Plus, it usually feels gummy and weird and I keep smacking my lips, hee hee.

I sometimes wear makeup - job interviews, family functions, going out to dinner, etc. I spend around five minutes doing it. I use some foundation (Revlon on eyes, nose, and chin), concealer with acne stuff (Revlon as needed), two shades of eye shadow (Bobby Brown, which works well. They don't test on animals, but I don't know what's vegan and what's not. It was a gift from awhile back), mascara (Jane),  clear gloss (Jane) and mineral powder (Physician's Formula, which doesn't test). I've used other Physician's Formula products and have been quite happy with them. They're easy to find, too. I also like Urban Decay, Hard Candy, Aveda, and Mary Kay (Generally can't afford the first three brands). I've heard good things about Beauty Without Cruelty and Zuzu, but have not had the opportunity to try either (I don't buy makeup unless I can try it out first, and I haven't seen makeup from either brand around here). I intend to replace my nonveg stuff with things that are free of beeswax and slaughterhouse remnants, but I have a lot of makeup that's still wearable so I'm just going to replace as I go.

I'm in HS still and I do a tiny bit of foundation just on "problem areas" and I also always wear eyeliner. I stray away from black though, I prefer bright blues and green. I don't think it's too flashy, it's just like the equivalent of someone wearing blue eyeshadow. Plus  I get compliments on it a lot too. Most days I do mascara too but not too much, just a bit.

Also, my merryhempsters lip balm NEVER leaves my purse :)

I don't wear any makeup - I look like a clown when I try to put it on  8) I wish I had a sister or someone to teach me how to use it! I don't even know what my "undertones" are...I've tried to figure it out, but can't...I must need makeup for dummies or something LOL

This is exactly how I feel.  I wore makeup on my wedding day.  I wore makeup when I was in the bridal party for my brother's wedding.  I used to play violin, and I would wear makeup when I had a solo performance.  Someone else always put it on for me. That's about it.  I've tried a couple times myself, but I always think I look clownish and wash the makeup off.

So I've just resigned myself to the idea that it is a waste of time and money :)

I was in the same boat.  I went to Ulta and grabbed a salesman...yep a man (he was wearing makeup!) I had him teach me how to do my make up and now I wear it often!
