I just scored a....... (a thread about finding great deals!!!)

I  love to brag about how little I paid for something. Like my $2.00 boots, or $14 Tofurkey dinners. This thread is dedicated to all the good deals we find!  8-)

I just scored (2) three pound tubs of Earth Balance for $2.99!

At this gross discount grocery store which hardly has anything vegan, they had these HUGE ASS tubs of EB (commercial size?) for $2.99 each. I did not realize until I got home that she only charged me for one, and NO I did not go back to correct her error! It is sort of far away (now I'm sure karma will bite me in the ass at some point). But jeez.....6 pounds for 3 bucks! I need to take a picture so you can appreciate how large these are. They are bigger than my head.

Anyone else get any good deals lately?

Ahhhh...the dollar store delivered once again!  This time I got 2 silicone scrapers for $1 a piece!  They just restocked the soymilk again too!  Staples had everyday photo paper for $2.99 also!  It's not great photo paper but for some of the stuff I have to do....works for me!

I got a one/two cup food processor at the thrift store for $2 a couple of years ago.  Really worth it!

I don't know if this is really a good deal, or it just feels like one, but I got bunches of kale for the same price that I usually find collared/turnip/mustard green bunches--just about $1 a bunch. Considering that I have been struggling to even find kale, this was welcome. I got a bunch of big bunches. Yum.

Many many years ago, but my soph hop dress was $15 at a major department store, my junior prom dress was a hand-me-down bridesmaid dress (that looked GREAT--too bad I ended up not being able to go to the junior prom  :() and my senior prom dress was $42. I always brag about these :)

My wedding dress was $99! It was a handmade sample or something. It was perfect and actually went well with our heirloom veil that I wore that's been in the family since the 1800's.

Kale for $1 is great!

I got this really awesome brewing thing that makes like one little cup of tea at the thrift for $3. I can make yerba mate or thai tea in it in seconds. It was never even used.

wow, L2A, that is amazing.....I love how victorian and intricate the lace, veil, dress is!  I wish you had an up close look at the lace so I could see the detail.....I'm all into that since I was a fashion major(before my mid life crisis hit, and I went back to school!)

BP that's amazing - isn't that like 20pence or something...um yeah.  so so jealous (I have recently become addicted to avocado sandwiches thanks to VW)

my bargain today from the fruit man at the underground station was.....500g strawberries (~1lb to you US peeps!), a massive pineapple and 2 avocadoes for £3.50 (I think about $5 or maybe just under).  The avocado were 2 for £1 but in the supermarkets you're looking at £1-2 each depending on size.  And they're already nice and ripe. Yay!

Thank you Lubi! I will look for close ups and send them your way. It's about time someone commented on this...I was feeling neglected.  :-\

33 cent avocados the other day. the price was marked like 80 cents (still cheap!) but they rang for 33.

dang, I think I paid 2 bucks today at the discount store! I just really wanted them even though they weren't a good deal. Such and easy lunch for me and Lyle.

When I lived in Florida, Storm's stomping ground, I was walking home from work one day because my car was broke down and I found this huge avocado tree hanging over the fence along the road. On the ground were all sorts of avocados, gigantic ones. I managed to carry three of them home with me and my family of four could barely eat one at a sitting.
But my deal of today was that my neighbour offered to start all my garden plants in exchange for watering her greenhouse from time to time. We still have three feet of snow in our garden though. :'(

i got the BEST deal yesterday!!!  I went to my local grocery chain store that advertised Amys Pizzas for $4 each.  When i got there, they had no sale signs by the pizzas but i knew they were still on sale so i grabbed 2, the roasted veggie & the rice crust with spinach & veg cheese (i didnt realize this existed so i was pretty thrilled).  I get to the u-scan checkouts and i scan them first to check the sale-ness of them and they both come up 8.99 each.  wtf.  so i tell the u-scan monitor that they're supposed to be on sale for 4 each and she looks at the ad then calls the frozen dept for a price check and she tells me that only the non-organic ones are on sale.  (even though the ad didnt specify that, it just says amys pizzas & 13-14oz).  i also tell her that none of them were labeled with sale signs -  not even the real cheese ones.  so she goes off to look for herself and then comes back and says that she's going to give me the one for $4 and the other one for free.. FREE!  i thought she misspoke and meant to say 1 for $8 and the other for free, but then she said it again out loud as she typed it in and i was like 'ok, thanks, idunno how that works but ok".  she smiled and patted me on the back and walked off - she musta thought i looked like i was in desperate need of some vegan pizza to give me that deal (plus she coulda refused to give me a deal at all on the one pizza cus it was only 12oz so really it wasnt eligible for the sale price at all!) - freaking amy's pizzas for $2 each!!!

Sweet PP!

Last night I bought 2 avocados... for $1 each.  Not a huge bargain but better than $2.99 for one!

Are those veg cheese pizzas vegan?  All of the Amy's soy cheese products I've seen are milk based.

The one spinach one is..I checked ingredients on one I saw at the store, and right after the word "ingredients," it said (vegan). I got all excited and bought it, even though it was ten dollars. It was yum, but needed more cheese. Or mushrooms or something. More zazz.

My cilantro from last year is growing. I thought my father killed it. I don't have to get cilantro seeds this year!

I miss having avocado trees around. My old neighbor had a wonderful tree, with huge avocados on them. He'd let me pick as many as i wanted. For some reason we never have luck growing avocado trees, we get them to be about as tall as me and they die  :'(

what she said cyets... it's the rice crust spinach one and has a tofu ricotta cheese - totally vegan!  i remember those rice cheese ones they had that werent so i was pleasantly surprised when i saw the big "no dairy no gluten" on the front of the box.

cakes - you better go add your review to the packaged reviews page before ac sees this cus that pizza doesnt have any reviews yet!
