Ethical companies not part of a super huge conglomerate

So, this has been sort of a long process for me, but a while ago I started to make conscious decisions to avoid products from certain companies. There are many reasons behind this: marketing campaigns, WTF-ness of ingredients in food products, buying out of other companies, mass layoffs and moving manufacturing oversees to lower costs leaving many people unemployed. So, now I'm to the point where I'm making a lot of stuff myself from scratch.  I'm so done giving any of my money to huge conglomerates who own practically everything and will try to buy anthing they can.

This post is inteded to help each other find companies more ethical in their business practises.
Some I know are :

Newman's Own, gives profit to charity
Dr. Bronners, organic, fair trade, vegan, not tested on animals
Annie's Homegrown, enviromentally friendly (not vegan though)

That's all I have, post any info you think is relevant or would just like to share.  And add to the list if you can. ;)b

Okay, so it's not the most positive offering I could make, but I found this chart really helpful for identifying the huge conglomerates behind the virtuous looking companies: http://awesome.goodmagazine.com/features/009/009buyingorganic.html

I forget who posted this or even if it was this forum I lifted it from... if I stole it from YOU and you're reading this, sorry!  :D

Horizon Milling, listed as #6 on the list will NEVER get a cent from me again. This is a company that took over Robin Hood Flour mill & almost immediately locked out the workers. After more than 400 days of being locked out, Horizon reported last week that they are shutting the mill down.  >:(
From almost day one of the takeover, Horizon has treated their employees like crap. They showed huge profits but threatened wage reductions & layoffs. Because of the labour tactics of this company, no way, no how will I buy their products!

I use Kiss My Face shampoo and conditioner..it works very well.  I only wish it was sold in larger bottles and was a little bit cheaper.

True that. Smells pretty divine, though!
