economy vegan lotion?

hey y'all, I am all dried up from this winter weather and I guess i need to get some lotion to cope with it...I never really have used lotion in the past so I'm not sure what brands don't test on animals AND are cheap? I was at target the other day looking for facial lotion and i took me a good hour and 15 minuets to find ANY that don't test on animals (say yes to carrots, rave!!!) but now I need just like a huge bottle of something for my body...like something I can buy at Walgreen's or target (still boycotting walmart....)

What do y'all recommend?

I don't know about Target but the same might be true there. (Target is 30 minutes away, Walmart is less than 5.)  At Walmart, there are some "natural" products in the cosmetics section of the store.  They have their own section and are not with the other bath and body products.  The bottles are normal sized though.  I use a lot of lotion due to eczema.  I usally stock up on that and a couple other things when I visit my mother who lives in a larger city with more options.  If you get desperate you can use coconut oil.  Mainstream stores don't have much for vegan HBA items.

I like Nature's Gate products.

For quick 'n easy and cheap: olive oil is AWESOME for a body moisturizer.

Trader Joe's lotion is pretty cheap, if you've got a TJs nearby.

Jergen's says it's cruelty free on the back of the bottle (I think), though the company isn't listed with PETA/other organizations that list cruelty-free companies (I think). Not the cheapest, but sold at Target.

Aloe and if you can stand the smell coco butter?

Also if you invest in a quality shower filter it wont dry out your skin as much. :)

I use Natures Gate for a lot of things and they're cheap, vegan, work very well and the bottles are really big.

I'd also like to add coconut oil or hemp oil.

I like Alba's Very Emollient body lotion.  I've seen large pump bottles of it in the cosmetics section of Target, though I think it's still like $15 or so.

I've tried most of these homemade beauty recipes and they rule.  She recommends flax seed oil for dry skin, because it soaks in quickly without leaving you greasy.

I also like the Nature's Gate lotions. If my skin gets really dry I'll use some cocoa butter or olive oil.
