Daiya Cheese Retail!

I am so psyched! I bought Daiya cheddar and mozzarella "cheese" shreds at my Whole Foods. I tried the mozzarella on a roasted veggie sandwhich and it was really delicious. It didn't taste as bland as dairy mozzarella so I'm really looking forward to trying it on a pizza and I will update as I try things!

Mann. I'm gonna ask my HFS if they'll get in daiya. It would be so much easier than driving to whole foods.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Daiya Cheese!! We use it on pizza, panini, quesadillas, grilled cheese, in mac n cheese, lasagna, and basically any dish we would have used cheese in back in the day! We ARE SO glad to have a good vegan alternative for cheese. We've been disappointed with the rest of them. Does anyone know if you can get them in bulk anywhere?

I LOVE Daiya!!!!! Discovered it when I was California. It is on the pricy side, but I think it is totally worth the price. I am in Massachusetts, anyone know if it is in any of the Whole Foods around here yet carry it?? ( I don't have one close to me..grrrrrr)

I'm in MA and I get Daiya at WF! That's the only place I've seen it though. I haven't seen it in bulk in a store, but I believe you can order it that way off the Daiya website.

They have the bulk shreds, and bulk blocks. I know a few people here on VW order it that way.

Look at this pizza I just made with Daiya mozz!  It was actually almost disturbing, and we couldn't eat much at a time. So cheesy.

Yes, a little goes a long way.  The first package we got suggested 6 oz. for a 12 in. pizza, but we thought that was a bit much; we've settled on 4 oz.

I agree that a little goes a long way. And I like that tou can put your daiya in a baggy and chuck it in the freezer just fine. You can cook it straight from frozen or thaw it first. It hasn't made a difference for me at all.

I love Daiya. I made grilled pizzas for my family a few times this summer and they could not tell the difference. It's THE BEST substitute I've ever had and is clearly labeled vegan. I hate impostors.

I think this is the best cDheese substitute out there, but be warned:  go easy on it.  Too much Daiya=too much gas imo!  I use it mostly as a "garnish" on salads or scrambled tofu.  But once in awhile, I just gotta make "queso" out of it (both kinds of Daiya melted with Rotel canned tomatoes and chiles).

that's insane, l2a. and a lotta daiya.

i finally bought some daiya when i was back in the states. i was so busy running all over while i was there though, so i had hardly any time to use it. on my last day there i made a grilled cheese sandwich on some challah i'd made and mmmmmm was it good. i used to always have challah grilled cheese so it was just perfect.

I love it. I just got it from my local health food store and am still just amazed at how much i like it. i figured i would think it was ok and not the greatest thing ever, but i am very happy with it. it really made my tofu scramble.  :D
