cliff bars

we do have a larabar thread.
but is anyone passionate towards cliff bars as much as larabars?
cliff bars are yummy.

Also, (and i hate giving out this secret) i've bought coupons on ebay.. 50 cents off 2 bars.  Does that make me weird?

You can get coupon books seasonally from Mambo Sprouts that always include Clif products. I find them at Whole Foods and Henry's(Wild Oats).

I thought the Z bars were not vegan though?  I haven't ever seen them in stores, but that's what I heard from a friend.  Anyone know for sure?

i don't know if i actually checked but i think they are vegan. i think everything clif makes is.

Unfortunately, the tea cakes are not. It's like anything else...check small print.

Currently:
I like PB and Blueberry Crisp Clif.  Lemon Zest and PB Cookie Luna. Pomegranate.., Vanilla Lemon..,and  Raspberry Cocoa...Nectar. Orange Passionfruit and Pomegranate Berry Elixir.

Anyone tried the new fruit twist thing?

z bars are vegan (i should know, i have two boxes in my drawer...)

There are a few flavors of clif-brand stuff that aren't; honey-roasted Mojo bars, the new honey graham z bar, and there might have been another Mojo one in there...

I looove many of the flavors. What, you want a list? Ok:
cookies n cream clif (I can't find it anymore though!)
carrot cake clif
cool mint chocolate
chocolate chip clif
blueberry crisp clif
blueberry yogurt luna sunrise
chocolate peppermint stick
apricot cranberry "nectar" (i think it's discontinued though...)
the (vegan) z bars: pb, brownie, and cookie
and I like those raspberry and pomegranate luna elixirs (like powdered vitamin water, sort of)

Most of the lunas I don't like though... I guess because they've got the crisp rice layer and flavor-fudge-whatever that it's dipped in, the rice really tastes like all those vitamins in there. Same thing with the builder bars, but I guess if you need 25 g of protein, that's what you do...

I *know* this is a clif bar thread, but I must also add that chocowalla and chocolate chip peanut Odwalla bars are also... very good =). (Odwalla also makes "soy smart" soy beverages. i've found them in chai, chocolate, and vanilla)

i tried a microwave clif bar because i couldn't stop thinking about it. it was pretty delicious but not as good as i was expecting the clif bar to be after that long hiatus, so that's kinda good.

i do love that pumpkin flavor, though. so when it comes back i am going to try microwaving it.

it will be yummy- the frosting will get all melty and gooey.

the mojo bars are soooo good.. but they don't fill me up enough and are a little too calorie-heavy/expensive for me to buy very often.

i haven't tried all the nectar bars for the same reason, but the ones i have tried are good.

the builder bars taste good too but i don't think i need THAT much protein.

the original bars are my favorite by far.

clif, i love you :-*

I am always going to microwave my cliff bars from now on. I tried it with the chocolate chip flavor and it was absolutely delicious. It tasted like a freshly baked cookie :)

I also nuked an apricot & nut nature's path granola bar and it turned out fantastic as well.

yay!  i've started a new food craze!  :D ;D

i'm glad you guys tried it and liked it.  when i first "discovered" it i was shocked at how different and delicious it was.. i seriously tell everyone about it whenever a conversation turns to clif (and you'd be surprised how often that is).

I'm a loser I guess since I've never tried them.  I just don't pay attention to stuff like that when I'm in the store.

i just saw on their site that they've added a new maple nut flavor, in addition to the seasonals that should be out soon.  one of those is new too, they discontinued the caramel apple cobbler and replaced it with a pear apple strudel one...hmm we'll see..

they also have some kids fruity candy & juice products now, alot more natural than the candy most kids eat.

I like the Peanut Butter Crunch and the Carrot Cake Clif bars.

just wanted to let ya know that i'm giving the new maple nut flavor a big thumbs up!  i'm not even a huge maple fan either.. i hate those little maple leaf shaped candies *yuck*.  but the bars were good (and even better microwaved of course)

i also saw the they labeled the apricot flavors box with a 'new recipe' note in case anyones interested.. i don't think i've ever tried those.. the really fruity ones don't really sound good to me.  has anyone tried them?

In case none of the rest of you are nerdy enough to receive the clif bar newsletter...  In todays newsletter they give 'recipes', one of which is that their resident dietician microwaves a brownie clif bar and tops it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

hmmm i wonder where she got that idea?!

Well I broke down and tried some Clif bars.  My favorites were the carrot cake and the chocolate chip.  I also had some kind of chocolate fudge with almonds, the mint chocolate and the peanut butter with chocolate.  I haven't tried any others of the non-chocolate ones.  Also...they were .99 cents at the store I work at.

what? when can you find them four for a buck?
i mostly hate clif bars, just because i have now had too much experience with needing cals/fat and that being the easiest thing to do it with (stupid biking)
