Can someone reccomend a good vegan liquid dish soap?

For the entire month of February, I'm going to hand-wash everything instead of using the dishwasher. If my hypothesis is correct, that will use less electricity, saving me money and helping the enviroment out a bit too (I think I'm turning into an enviromentalist - I actually care about my footprint! You guys are bad influences  ;)). Switching from my chemical-based cleaning regime (Windex, Clorox, Pine-Sol, Comet, just to name a few) to a more eco-friendly one is a bit hard though... I'm glad the "natural based" recipes section came along when it did!

Anyway, I figure this would be a good time to experiment. Can anyone suggest a good, eco-friendly, vegan liquid dish soap?

Our electric cooperative gave us a brochure that says an electric dishwasher (4 loads/week) costs about 1.02/month (where I live, anyway). That is supposed to work out to 14 KWh/month. Must cost me about $.50 per month since I usually run the dishwasher only twice a week (when it's just the DH and me).

Also, I have read that using a dishwasher actually uses less water than handwashing but I'm not sure how that works out money-wise--whether I'd be saving more money for water by using the dishwasher than I'd be saving for electricity by handwashing. So I do both--hand wash cooking tools and wash glasses and dishes in the dishwasher.  :)

I like to use Earth Friendly Products' Ultra Dishmate in Natural Apricot flavor. Love the way it smells. The ingredients are "water, coconut oil derived surfactants (does not contain SLS or Cocamide DEA), salt and apricot oil." I have seen it at our local health food store, Whole Foods, and even Publix.

I love, love, love 7th generation. Iuse many of their products not just the dish soap. Though I think that I might try and make some of my own when these run out using recipes posted.

I LOVE earth friendly products' dishmate.  I've tried the apricot, grapefruit and almond and liked all!!!  Right now I'm using the grapefruit scent.
I also like the 7th generation liquid dish detergent.
I just buy whichever brand is on sale at my coop natural foods store.

I, too have read that the use of an energy efficient dishwasher uses less water and energy than handwashing.  Boy, I hope so or I'd never cook ;)

Dr. Bronner's is the best all purpose soap on earth.

I use it for just about everything (except the dishwasher- I'm a fan of Seventh Generation)

Are you going to try to keep tabs on your savings?

I like the 7th Generatrion--unscented.  I don't like my dishes to smell like anything but dishes!

I also use 7th generation unsented for my dishes.  I haven't really tried anything else though, it worked so well that I never saw a need to try other kinds.
