Vegan ultramarathoner Scott Jurek

fantastic!

I like:
"This isn’t an elimination diet but an inclusion diet.”
and
“None of this is weird. If you go back 300 or 400 years, meat was reserved for special occasions, and those people were working hard. Remember, almost every long-distance runner turns into a vegan while they’re racing, anyway — you can’t digest fat or protein very well.”

There was also an article about him in Runner's World. Very neat! :)

He's awesome. He's featured in the book Born To Run, by Christopher McDougall, which I highly recommend.
This is a cool interview with him too: http://www.veganforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4048

I love Scott Jurek! Another vegan endurance athlete is Brenden Brazier. I just ordered one of his books, Thrive (or Thrive Diet, I can't remember), and it's supposed to help with recovery time after marathons and triathlons...all vegan! He has another book called Survive, but I haven't heard what the specific target audience is of that one.

Yeah vegan athletes! ("But where do I get my protein?" asks Nintendo lazy boy)

How cool is that.

On Brendan, Thrive is a good book.  Good recipes though.  His products are too expensive though.

I can't even use his products if I wanted to since they are hemp based.  I know hemp and THC are different, but my job says no.

I've been thinking about getting that book because he's soy free.
