Vegan Poo

I know this has been discussed before, but I just have to say how amazing taking a vegan crap is. I swear I can sit, poop, wipe, and wash in under 60 seconds. and yes, my hands are clean!!!

Even when pregnant (and your are SUPPOSED to be constipated) I was still going 2-3 times per day with no problem.
After surgery where most people are blocked up for a week, I went on day 2!

One thing I miss is the quality readin' time in the jon. Now I don't even bother picking up a book or mag because I know there's no time!!! :D :D :D

both mine and dh's poop smells MUCH less....I can't remember the last time the house was wafting with shit smell from a messy poo.  ok, I'll say it...my shit don't stink! :-D ::)

being vegan just has so many benefits.  ::)

HH,
I am eating my lunch and reading about your big fluffy clouds of poo....... :o

since we're bringing up old stuff, remember how SB talked about pooping in a bucket when his roommate was in the bathroom???

I actually saw a bumper sticker a while back that said "Im vegan, I poop three times a day minimum." I totally thought of you saying that, lol!

hahah.  that's funny.  and true.

I see a thread about poo, I open it up, and the first thing I see is this:

I keep it chilled in the fridge. Tastes fine to me straight.

Mmmmmmmmm.

:-D :-D :-D

:-D  :-D  :-D

i'm laughing so hard.  brittney's confused.

:( Ive not been eating enough to have any bowel movements. It makes me so mad. When I'm eating enough I have several a day, its one of my favorite parts of being vegan.

Oh but my stools REEEEEEEEEEK now that I am vegan. Like a million times worse than when i was omni or veg. Whats the deal with that?

your poo won't necessarily smell like roses, but it shouldn't reek.  if it does, it's an issue with your diet.  maybe you're not balancing it?

it should come out easy, be bulky (or like big vegan poo clouds, as hh said), not have a super bad odor, and shouldn't take half a roll of toilet paper to wipe clean.
(in fact, there should be very little to wipe away... sticky poo tends to be stinky poo and a sign of a diet that isn't balanced)

try eating more raw veggies and some fruits.  make sure you're getting both soluble and insoluble fiber.  also, plenty of water.

and just thought of something... how soon after your transition to vegan was this?  (this was a post from a year ago)  any major change in
your diet will result in your body having some weird reactions.  mine DEFINITELY changed when i went from vegetarian to vegan.  but then
once i got everything balanced out, everything was pretty normal.  i think it took a few months to get to that point.

yay! I am so happy that this has been bumped (thanks HH) and that Sirdidymus now thinks I'm cool.
HMMMMMM I still take about 30 seconds or less and hardly use ANY TP! WOO! I've been going only once or twice though, not three times, so I need to remove my bumper sticker.
Let's here more about YOUR vegan poo! 8-)

brittney's family pretty much all end up getting colon cancer.  they also wouldn't recognize a vegetable unless it was a deep fried potato of some sort.  when i met brittney, she had literally never had most fruits or vegetables.  she tried to tell me she didn't like them, but it was because what little she did have in her childhood wasn't fresh... usually canned (canned veggies are icky!  i only buy canned beans and that's out of laziness!).

i introduced her to a world of fresh fruits and veggies.  she became a vegetarian eventually (on her own and her decision).

when i met her she had spent her whole life constipated.  literally.  about once a month she had to go to the doctor and they would prescribe the same super laxative that they give to patients right before surgery.  when that failed, they would have to reach in and "help" her.
:o

she also used tons of enemas, fiber pills, suppositories, those "detox colon cleansers" laxatives... anything that would make her go.

this was for her ENTIRE life.  because of this, she was at high risk of also getting colon cancer (when we first met she had told me she knew she was going to die from cancer at an early age because "everyone in family does"), she had acne, she was ALWAYS sick, and her weight fluctuated insanely.

i told her she should eat some veggies and she'd go.  she thought i was crazy.

now she goes three times a day like a champ and tells her family they should follow my advice!

i guess you could say i saved her life.  her skin's clear, she's rarely sick, and now she's NOT at risk for cancer.

:)>>>

i've been vegetarian my whole life.  i've really got no comparison of my own.

(god, i hope brittney doesn't read this!  she'll kill me a little!!!)

if you really want to have some fun w/your poop (umm, so to speak) - eat a load of beets, and within 24 hours - let the fun and show begin (not that *i* ever do the "look back" no no no).

that is definitely my favorite way to have fun in the bathroom.

eat about a pound of cherries and the fn will also begin!

I'm absolutely shocked I haven't commented on this thread yet.

That being said, I should mention that I clogged someone's toilet when I visited them last week...  :o

this is what i was thinking! ha ha ha

but it is great that things got figured out and everything is moving. does her family eat better now, given her improvement via diet? or are they still doing things how they were?
