The Two Week Ultimate Radiant Health Plan

I agreed to help Quintess out by getting her books out to stores in the bay area over here in California and her first suggestion was to start making recipes, "get to love the book" which is what I've been doing. However, ever since I first got the book a month ago or so I was caught by her Ultimate Radiant Health Plan, it seems totally do-able and is really the way I want to be eating in the first place but just haven't been able to give myself a big enough kick to do so.
For those of you that don't own the book (which is a problem I would suggest you remedy very soon ::)) the principles of the plan are basically to strive to eat 2 cups of fruit, 6 cups of veggies and cut out caffeine, hydrogenated oils, alcohol, soft drinks, artificial sweeteners and other additives every day for the two weeks you follow the eating plan. As well as getting in tune with your body, loving it and understanding what it needs.
Has anyone who owns this book thought about following this plan or already tried following this plan? Like I said, the appeal is that it is very do-able. I can make it fit my crazy busy life which is really key.
I plan to eat up the foods in my house that don't fit into the plan within the next few days and then grocery shop on Thursday to start the plan off Friday morning. I'm a bit concerned about this fitting my budget as I spend about $35-45 a week on food. I'm estimating this might be closer to the $45-60 range but hopefully not too far out of it.
I'd love to have some friends join me on this if anyone's interested! I'm really excited to begin!

Hey!  I have her book and am intrigued as well.  I've thought about it.  My only reservation is the cutting caffeine out.  I'd be willing to try... starting Monday.  I don't want to drastically alter stuff just days before running 13.1 miles.

Hmm, I feel already do that, minus the caffeine.  I pretty much only eat beans, grains, fruits, veg, and a handful of nuts per day.  Not quite 6 cups of veg but as many as can fit in my stomach.  Guess I'm radiant?

eta: Not interested in giving up caffeine.

This caught my eye.. :)

You ladies have the 2nd edition right? It gives suggestions for the caffeine thing. I'd love to hear how it goes for anyone doing this plan!

p.s. My coffee-addicted friends have told me that kombucha works well as a coffee substitute too. If you can get around the sticker shock that is!!

Oh, and also...I'M doing this plan right now!! I need to "detox" a bit after all my recent travels. And it is a really easy plan to follow--be sure to check out the back of the book for a listing of all the "Green" and "Blue" recipes. I usually eat 90% green recipes when I'm on this plan.

Good luck, and thanks for starting this thread!! I'll keep an eye on this post too, & try to answer questions if they come up.

about kombucha--make your own! i used to and it's really cheap to do that, even using fair trade organic tea.

Hmmm... I just did lots of online research! I basically just made a huge batch of strong sweet tea and then put it in a glass jar with the culture and either some pasteurized apple cider vinegar or kombucha to start and left it until it tasted good. Haha. not very technical.
