Trying to lose weight, get back to veganism!

Hey folks! I kicked the meat habit about 2.75 years ago. I ate strictly vegan for about a year, but I've somehow lost sight of it over the last year and I've started eating eggs and dairy again. I've also been trying to lose weight. I lost about 20lbs last year, and I'd like to do the same again this year.

I guess what I'm looking for is motivation and support... I know all the reasons I want to eat vegan. I know why it's important to eat healthier and exercise (just because one eats vegan doesn't necessarily mean they're getting a balanced diet, ya dig?). I was hoping to hear from someone(s) that had fallen off the wagon themselves, and what it took to get back on it.

Thanks in advance, folks!  :)

Place reminders of the reasons why you want to be a strict vegan in places where you'll frequently see them(on the fridge, in the car, on your bathroom mirror, in your wallet...). Think about these before you eat. That always helps me at family functions where is it often difficult to find anything at all to eat(except some flaccid hunk of celery or a parched piece of broccoli).    ::)

i went vegan for 6 weeks last year and lost about five pounds without exercising. i gained that weight back when i started eating dairy/eggs again.  in the past five weeks since i've been vegan (this time is a keeper) i've again lost the five pounds, this time with exercise 2-3 times a week.

i consider myself an ethical vegan whereas the first time i was really only doing it to lose weight. whenever i get the temptation to eat something from an animal, i think of how poorly those animals are treated and it usually makes the craving go away. i also spend tons of time scouting out places that serve vegan versions of foods i like, experimenting with recipes, and just overall learning about vegan food and all its possibilities. knowledge is truly the best tool i have. if i know i can get a vegan version of something, then i don't need the fattier, cholesterol filled animal version. and if i can't get a vegan version, it's probably some highly processed, unhealthy food that i don't need anyway.
