Can't chew - Need food ideas!

I've had a long few weeks....

I had my wisdom teeth extracted at the end of December. I was one of the lucky few with a complication and now I am under strict orders not to chew food (and I can't really chew anyway). It's been almost three weeks of this, and it's not expected to be back to normal for at least three months.

This, as you can imagine, is driving me batty. I have to "eat" all day to get a normal amount of calories, protein, etc. I'm sick of a lot of what I've been eating, and I'm running out of ideas. I have a food processor, blender, and immersion blender, so I can puree a lot of things, but some things don't really hold up well through that process.

If anyone has any suggestions, please please send them my way! Even if you think it's silly or obvious, I would be really grateful. (I'm especially looking for savory recipes - the yogurt, smoothies, juice, etc. is making me sick of sweets!)

If the heat in your mouth doesn't bother you, I'd suggest making smooth soups--tomato, pea, potato, etc. Something that you can blend until it's smooth so it goes down easily. And if not, you could always make a cold soup and puree it down.
Also, would protein powder of some kind in a smoothie help?
I am SO sorry to hear about your your complication--last summer my friend had to do this same thing for about the same amount of time--it drove him nuts, too. You can do this, it'll be over soon! Good luck.

After my combined implant surgery and wisdom teeth removal (ACK!) I lived on mashed potatoes and apple sauce (and pudding, cottage cheese since this was pre-veg).  Even soft foods like mac n cheese that you can cook extra soft and then just mash up to the roof of your mouth with your tongue should be fine.  Try eating vegan baby food, that's another popular option that will help you maintain various nutrients.
