Thema: Really cool before & after photos!
Haupttext: OK, this just seriously boosted my mood today!
Go to this website, and see the before and after photographs of famous stars when they are photographed and then 'touched up'!

I know photos for magazines and whatnot are touched up, but its just nice to be reassured that celebrities look pretty normal most of the time.
Penelope Cruz's is the most startling, however notice that Halle Berry looks pretty much amazing before and after!

Did you notice though they actually put in curves on some of the women like Cameron Dias? They softened her boniness.

that's really insane - but to be honest, most of them look pretty good in their "before"s. but it's comforting to see they're not all THAT skinny - their bodies have imperfections too.
I saw that link on Moby's blog and was amazed at the differences! I mean, I always knew that air-brushing was involved but it never really hits you until you see the difference. I agree that Penelope Cruz's was most shocking, though Nicolette Sheridan and Brittany Murphy were close seconds.
Pretty, I saw Lohan on the cover of Maxim this month and she looked terrible, so God only knows how f-ed up she looks like in real life. Sad sad sad.
I think the most interesting thing is not that they take off pounds but adjust their bodies...
like the eva longoria shot... ??? that not just curving someone out... it's moving anatomy!
Hehe, I work at a portrait studio and have to take pictures of "average looking" people... hours and hours of photoshopping and special lighting in order for the person to think they look good enough to buy the pictures (on adults, kids tend to photograph beautifully naturally, although some people even want retouching on their BABIES' photos). It's crazy.
Wasn't Haley Berry amazing though. All they really did was take off an arm band and lighten the image. They didn't really change anything.

Looks like they removed darkish facial hair, upper lip and eyebrows... but she really is beautiful naturally. I think Kate blanchett looks great before and after too.
It's so funny, they take in the waist and pull out the hips on almost every single person.
those always make me sad.
what cheers me up a little is that if you move your mouse on and off of cameron diaz really quickly, it looks like she's dancing in a strobe light.
OMG! That makes me feel s much better about myself! I mean--I know that they do touch ups--but untill you actually get to see the before and afters youdon'trealize how much they do! I am so sick of being a "image" challenged girl--I am totally going to start treating myself like the rock star I am dammit!

yeah i have nose freckles and always used makeup to cover them up but in the last year or so i've decided, "oh freaking well!" makeup is silly, now i wear it for fun, but not every day. I'm sooooooo much happier!
the thing that got me was there was one picture of a woman, i don't know who she is, but all they really seemed to do was take out all the freckles all over her chest... i get freckles on my chest when i get some sun and i think they're beautiful, i don't understand why they would take out something like that but i guess it's seen as an "imperfection". whatever.
beyonce's picture makes me feel better but not too much. i knew she looked that way. but i see what you mean, jenniferhughes, i was amazed how they just move the anatomy around and make it look natural. i was kinda surprised on julia stiles' picture they made her back look "fatter" and gave her bigger hips/butt..but slimmed down her arm.
I LOVE my nose,cheek, and chest freckles. I have the same 'spots' as my mom and I adore the fact that I can look down at my hands and see her :)
i don't know who most of these people are (or i probably do but don't recognize them) but i think the before shots are beautiful.
i really like natural pictures and i think peoples imperfections are what make them beautiful.
like the models for american apparel. those are some of my favorites because they actually look a little different.
this is a good thing to post, because i know WAY to many beautful women who are so wrapped up in the tinyist details about themselves
its actually a turnoff...like they want me to notice and then think less of them physically
The part that kind of bothers me is that the web site appeared to be a business showing how "great" their product of "beautifying" people is--it's so sick that business are based on making you feel bad about how you look :'(
That's amazing. The airbrushed pictures don't even look human! It reminds me of a line from that movie Gia:
"And me? I'm some kid from Ohio, reading fashion magazines, looking at your picture and thinking I'm supposed to look like that. And going fucking crazy because I don't. Because nobody told me it was a lie. Because the magazine doesn't come with a label that says, "Caution: This is a lie. Nobody looks like this." Not even you."

I second closeyoureyestosee, they don't look human. I thought many of them looked much better before. The woman in the last picture is so much prettier with freckles, she looks like an alien in the after shot. The only photos that I think look better afterwards are the ones where all they've done to them is lighten the picture.
