veggie omega 3s

does anyone know of  a good website to get vegetarian supplements from, esp. omega 3 supplements?
id prefer a pill, if possible, not just eating flax/ oil.
thanks

I'm pretty sure you can just get flax oil pills at a regular old grocery store.

I like this site for vitamins and they have a few other things I end up getting... like cleansing teas.

www.smartbomb.com they also have great customer service.

The only pills I could find were the ones made out of gelatin.  I found a nice big bottle of flax oil at Trader Joe's for a reasonable price, though.  I've discovered that it's really good on banana bread...

I have flax oil. Can I use it to make the flax eggs everyone talks about? The recipes seem to ask for ground flax seeds.

No.  Flax seeds have a hydrocolloid gum (a type of fiber) in the seed coat that creates a gelatinous mucilage when wet---very similar in texture to an egg white (I really think this is cool).  Flax oil is only the fat portion of the flax and would not have the gum in it.

I use Udo's 3-6-9 oil.  There might be pills, I'm not sure.  But you get all your omegas.  ;)

i believe i saw some at my local henry's market.. but im not so sure about a website since i havent ordered any of my own. i usually just get my omega 3s from other sources. check out http://www.whfoods.org/ and check into some of the foods they have listed. they list all the nutrients provided. :)

I eat tons of purslane in the summer-- it grows like a weed in this area, so I look for it when we hike and have even farmed a bit in the yard. It's not for everyone (my husband doesn't like it), because it's a little tangy and a teensy bit slimy. It grows all over North America, so if you live in Canada or the US, you should probably be able to find it growing somewhere.

From http://2bnthewild.com/plants/H186.htm...
"Purslane contains more Omega-3 fatty acids than any other leafy vegetable plant we know of."

holy crap sharway! thats soooo funny...my family laugh about how my mother used to force us to eat weeds and wouldn't feed us real (ie: junk-) food...we had to go pick from the garden!! ;D
my mother is going to say i told you so.

i never knew about the purslane being so rich in omegas...i always looooved it, actually. i guess i'll have to go harvest some!  :) thanks for that!
