vegan vs vegetarian

I'm pretty new at this and probably sound pretty dumb.  But, can someone give me a straight answer about what the difference is between vegan and vegetarian.  Thanks Breezy36

Vegetarian is eating no meat. Red meat, fish, or chicken.

Vegan is consuming/using no animal products at all - No meat, dairy, eggs, leather, honey, wool.
Vegan is more of a lifestyle than a diet.
