Under observation...
DH actually recorded a German documentary on where milk and meat come from. The abbatoir scenes were prettied up, you don't see the actual death of the pigs or the bleeding process (they did show the cows getting zapped, though), and they glossed over a lot with odd camera angles etc. However they did show one really bad piggery and didn't pretty that one up. I expected DH to protest all through it but he didn't. What got to him was the "poor farmers" telling about how the price of milk and meat is going down all the time, and how it isn't worth doing business--and yet they invest more and more and expand more and more??
Question for JenniferH if you see this--they claim that in Germany milk sells for 40 Eurocents a litre. I don't believe this, because I happen to know things are more expensive there than Spain and the cheapest milk you can get here is 60 cents a litre and up. 60 is rockbottom.
Dare I hope he will think more about where his food comes from, and how grossly overcharged the consumer is? I think we'll get farther with him if we focus on his pocket!

I don't know how expensive it is here! LOL I avoid the dairy aisle... it smells to me!!
I do think it is fairly cheap though. But many people are really into buying BIO stuff or at least a high-end product... so that may be the uncommon but rock bottom price too... I will look next time I'm out though and report back!
