strange coincidence?

I was talking with a teacher-friend tonight about handedness and I realized that every single vegetarian I've personally known (not a huge, overly scientific number or anything; after all, I live in the midwest!) has been left-handed. Weird. I wonder if lefties are predisposed to veg lifestyles?  ;) I'll have to do a study on it someday.

i'm a lefty too!
there is supposed to be connection between left-handedness and a stronger right brain... the creative side. which doesn't mean you have to be an artist, but creative in problem-solving or something else. maybe it takes a certain kind of creativity to deviate from the normal food intake, or maybe lefties are able to envision the suffering of animals more disturbingly? i'd definately be interested in knowling if there is a corelation.

I am a righty in traditional activities, but a lefty in dance. That might not mean anything to non-dancers, but yes, dancers have dominant sides!
Interesting theory... there will be exceptionals to any theory though (normal distribution) so all is not lost yet! Also, since there are far fewer lefties it is possible that more people will respond that they are righties, but that a greater proportion of lefties are veg than righties. In all honestly, I doubt it though, but it's fun to try and prove these things anyway!
My personal quest has always been to discover whether there is a genetic predisposition to vegetarianism. I have had a mostly lifelong aversion to meat and have always wondered this. Any scientists out there ready to take on the research?

I'm a righty all the way .... in everything I do. I write right handed. I fight south paw in karate (right foot forward ... which is wierd for a righty ... lefties usually fight south paw). I am "goofy stance" in snowboarding, which means my right foot is my front foot going down the slope.

My sister is a lefty, but she's a meat eater.

I a righty but can play sports ambidextrously. I have noticed a disperpotionate number of lefties in the skydiving world. Ive always wanted to do a study. There was a grad student who did a study on male skydivers and the fact that they have more female children. The hypothesis is that the extra adrenaline causes the disperpotionate numbers. sorry rambling

I'm a lefty!!!!!!!!!
The rest of my family are right handed and all eat meat.  .....
On a funny note, my friend's 3 year old is a lefty.  A couple of months ago, we went to Licks for lunch.  Licks is a burger place but wins the award for the best veggie burger nearly every year (called a nature burger).  Regressing, they have come out with a few great veggie meals!
Anyway, my friend got her son a hot dog.  He took it out of the bun and ate the bun with Catsup. Didn't eat the hot dog at all.  Things that make you go hmmmmmmm!

I am semi-ambidextrous, being translated this means I was supposed to be a lefty but was forced to be a righty since tiny. I have 2 elder siblings who were lefties, I wonder why me?? I write and eat right-handed, but sew and draw left.

I'm a lefty and one of my daughters is a lefty, too; however, there are some things I do right-handed since my mother was. Her mother was a lefty so there were some things my mother did left-handed.

I'm a righty too.  I remember when I was little though I wanted to right with my write hand and color with my left.  I was corrected to always use my right hand.

I'm a rightie! But it was my lefthanded sis that first brought the issue up of vegetarianism many years ago when she was 8 (although neither her, myself or my other sister - another rightie -  really liked to eat much meat when growing up!).  Years later, she became vegan only to slowly reintro fish and fleshes, although is now veg, as is her manfriend (he's a leftie) and their beautiful daughter (we think she's a leftie)!

I vaguely remember something from Uni about lateral and (i think) contralateral connective pathways in the brain affecting handedness etc.,
