Reasons to smile
I guess not everyone needs to find a reason, but... What made you smile and/or laugh today?
My first LOL of the day was caused by this LOLdog.
I went to the uniform laundry room at work yesterday, to ask if I could try on a size smaller in my trousers. And they fit! The laundry lady asked me if I needed a new shirt, too, so I tried the next size down in that, too. And it fit! Wow. My pants had been slipping down my hips a little for weeks, but last week they got ridiculously slippy. So happy to have confirmation that my body's changing shape/size a little. :iloveyou:
Humming along to the occasional good song at work... it's amazing how much it can lift my mood. ;)b
Overhearing customers' reactions when they can't decide whether flowers are real or not. It's hilarious either way - when they think fake are real, or real are fake. ;D

I just had a really great moment - one of my former students (who I actually had to fire from being an RA a few years ago), just IM'd me and asked me for advice about what to do in regards to her current job and pursuing grad school or a new career. This is the second former student I've had (that I fired) that has recently asked me for advice.
I really feel like I'm supposed to return to Higher Ed and I've been wondering if it was the best idea - this sort of sealed the deal. Now, if only I could find a job at a university :-\
The mornings have been pearly grey and cool since Sunday. Like it might rain, but it doesn't. Breezy. Lovely. Cloudy. I'm in heaven, if it would just rain a little.

One of my students showed me how to defrag the hard drives on my computer, which hasn't been done since I bought it 5 years ago. It's like having a new machine.
My brother and his girlfriend arriving in town for the weekend this afternoon, now just need to figure out a way to find eight hours of motivation at work first....
