I thought a good topic would be to start a thread with cool veg*n quotes.
I know I've heard some great ones.... but I can't think of any right now... hence the need for this thread. :D

Chekov's "Uncle Vanya" seems to have a quote for every occasion. This one has been in my head all day:
"One hundred years from now, those who come after us, for whom our lives are showing the way--will they think kindly of us? Will they remember us with a kind word? I wish I could think so."
I think this quote counts as veg*n related:
"Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them."
Orison Swett Marden

Some more Chekov:
"A new day, a new disaster, and excuse me, I just keep smiling. I even laugh, sometimes."

"Life is too short to stuff a mushroom."
Some domestic goddess on British TV. I promise to look up the reference and add it later. It's early here.
today is tomorrows yesterday
:P :P :P :P
today is tomorrows yesterday

And yesterday's tomorrow, come to that.
AKA: the day after tomorrows day before yesterday
deep thoughts we are having here :P

Shirley Conran in 1975.
This is not technically a quote, I guess, but it explains vegetarianism / veganism in a way I can't, even though it's not vegan related:
Hooo boy, I'm on fire. Let me try that again. <Note to self, tab will send me to the post button, not indent ::)>
(Mrs. Whatsit)... "In your language you have a form of poetry called the sonnet ... it is a very strict form of poetry ... There are fourteen lines, I believe, all in iambic pentameter ... And each line has to end with a rigid rhyme pattern. And if the poet does not do it exactly this way, it is not a sonnet, is it? ... But within this strict form the poet has complete freedom to say whatever he wants, doesn't he? ... You're given the form, but you have to write the sonnet yourself. What you say is completely up to you."
It's a shame to paraphrase from a Wrinkle in Time, but the notion is just beautiful. It carries over to so much in my life. Sure there are rules, but there's freedom within. It makes my heart sing.
Hmmm... rereading what I wrote, I just want to clarify: it's not actually a shame to paraphrase from A Wrinkle in time, it's a shame that I butchered the lovely text for my own devices. I'll stop being neurotic now.
Honey, with that avatar photo you can get away with just about anything your little heart desires.
*blushes*
I resurrect this thread because I want to share a great quote!
I was watching old episodes of Dharma and Greg, which always makes me laugh. Anyway in one episode Larry makes "test holes" in the cieling of Greg's apartment (long story) and of course Greg starts to lose it.
Dharma says, "You can't patch a hole with anger."
I find this sooo applicable to so many situations in life. You can't patch a hole, spiritual or physical, with anger. You have to be able to start from a positive outlook. Anger can be your inner impulse but its outward expression can get in the way of positive action.
Great quote, Anna. Great show too.
My quote of the day -- "Can't seem to shut it off, this thing I've begun. And it's hard to tell just where it's coming from." Okay..so I stole it from my tattoo..but I still love it. :)
"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." -Aristotle
"The blind have been blessed with security." - Nine Inch Nails
"Aimer, ce n'est pas se regarder l'un l'autre, c'est regarder ensemble dans la même direction."
- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Being in love is not looking at one another, but looking together in the same direction.
