i feel like i'm dying...

i've been sick since monday with "just a cold" and i woke up this morning expecting to feel better but i feel so much worse.. i can't talk without having to cough for 5 minutes, i'm nauseous enough that i can't eat (which is bad, usually it's hard to get me to stop eating even if i feel sick), my ears and throat hurt, and i feel like the room i'm sitting in is about 100 degrees. i've been drinking tea non stop, taking tylenol cold severe every 4 hours but havent slept in 2 days

the worst is that i signed up for overtime yesterday so i have a 10 hour workday ahead of me which i have to leave for in 45 minutes and i really can't call out sick (i only have 27 hours left for the year of sick time)

is there ANYTHING that you guys do to make yourself feel better when you feel this bad? i need anything to keep me going today :(

You poor thing!  :( I know you said you don't feel like you can call in sick, but if I were you I would stay home. If you have been sick since Monday and still feeling this bad you may find yourself far worse after working a 10 hour shift. You need to rest and let yourself get better. It's not such a bad thing using up sick time if you really need to. It's unfortunate you don't have much sick time left but I would rather let myself rest and recover than let some persistent cold drag on for days (or weeks!).
If you do choose to go to work, perhaps you could just see how you go and if you still feel really unwell leave early, and try and get some sleep when you get home or even just rest if sleep is impossible.
Drink lots of tea, keep warm, try and eat something, dry toast or something, it will help with the nausea.
I really hope you feel better but my advice would be for you to stay home.  :-\

MISO. I don't know why but it always helps me. On toast, in broth...but don't stir it into hot tea, kay? Particularly not lemon tea. (Ask me how I know this.)
Feel better soon.

Haha, what happens when you mix miso in tea?  I'm guessing it tastes gross?

I would also advise to fine ginger and if you can.. maybe chew on a raw piece if you can handle it.  It helped clear my cough temporarily.
Also, Ecinachea tea is supposed to be really good for colds, I've been making my own tea mixtures with it.

Even better (maybe?) would be to eat some raw garlic.. garlic is magical.. Chop it up and take it like pills...
I'm crazy so I do it. lol.  But I don't blame you if it seems like too much. haha.

Most of all, rest... sleep!  sleep anyway you know how.  I don't know any good herbs for that yet...

Miso (みそ or 味噌?) is a traditional Japanese food produced by fermenting rice, barley and/or soybeans, with salt and the fungus kōjikin (麹菌?), the most typical miso being made with soy. The result is a thick paste used for sauces and spreads, pickling vegetables or meats, and mixing with dashi soup stock to serve as miso soup called Misoshiru (味噌汁?), a Japanese culinary staple. High in protein and rich in vitamins and minerals, miso played an important nutritional role in feudal Japan. Miso is still very widely used in Japan, both in traditional and modern cooking, and has been gaining world-wide interest. Miso is typically salty, but its flavor and aroma depend on various factors in the ingredients and fermentation process. Different varieties of miso have been described as salty, sweet, earthy, fruity, and savory, and there is an extremely wide variety of miso available.

Also (in addition to what everyone else has already mentioned):
Mucinex seems to work really well in clearing everything out! My only caveat is to make sure you're drinking TONS of liquids!!
Chamomile Tea is good for nausea and sleeplessness
I swear by the combination of Olive Leaf and Oregano Oil capsules
Spearmint is also good for nausea
Vitamin C
Calcium will help with the fever.....
that's it for now!!

the only other question i have right now is if anyone knows how to get rid of the ear pressure? right now it feels like the inside of my ears are swollen and it hurts a lot. if that would just go away i would actually be feeling better this morning

You can do two things immediately.
First of all, take any pill that has good amount of caffein. Don't worry. This is purly on short term basis.
Next, stop taking too much of Tylenol.
second thing to do is, crush about two to three inches of Ginger. Add a Tsp of Brown sugar . Make six portions of the mix. Take each portion every 1 hour.

Watch Tom and Jerry for 1 hour.

Before you know, you would strut around like a cock in new feathers.

For ear pressure: make up a solution of 50/50 white vinegar and rubbing alcohol, and put 2-3 drops in each ear 2-3x's/day....it may burn the first few times, but it will stave off a possible infection, and if there's any fluid, help to dry it out
