The guy in my HFS nearly fainted!....
Hee hee hee. I just went to the HFS to get Cali some oil of Oregano (Boy is it expensive).
I then bought Evening Primrose Oil and Organic Spirulina for me. I said, BTW, the evening primrose and spirulina is for me. He said, you are actually buying something for you?!!!!! You are spending money on yourself and for your own health? I had to laugh.
Evening Primrose is supposed to be helpful for peri-menopausal women and for all women in general. My holistic vet has been telling me I should take it for years. I saw it and it was on sale, so I bought it. I bought the Spirulina because I am sure 'The Skinny Bitches' recommended it although I now can't find the passage in the book. Very high in all the vitamin B's. I get B12 shots so I thought it would be helpful as well.
So today is my last official day of vacation. I am doing laundry! I put a sheet on my bed to protect my duvet cover and duvet. Cali slept on the bed with me last night and there is blood and icky stuff that seeped through the sheet, seeped through the duvet cover and seeped clear through the duvet. Thank goodness it didn't seep any further.
Anyway, so when I go back to work on Monday, I will start working on the healthier Skinny Bitch routine. Baby steps.......
Oh, wow. Somehow it didn't click with me that Cali's condition involved blood and ooze. What is the oil of oregano for? Is it topical or are you putting it in something for Cali to injest?

She has a secondary bacterial skin infection that has pustules (mange is back too). As they open..... yuck! The vet suggested I used oil of oregano instead of tea tree oil to rub her down with. I wet a cotton makeup pad and then add a few drops to the pad. Wipe all the sores.
Cali is not as bad as the first time because we are starting her on everything good right away.
Funny, I have been going to the same small HFS for years and it blows the owner away that I am always buying things for the critters and rarely anything for me.
