I think there are grains that we rely on so much that we overlook their value. Who's going to vote for wheat? The sexy grain is going to get the vote and wheat clearly wears granny panties. I bypassed the sexy vote and voted for the cool grain.

I voted quinoa, but I could have gone for rice given my current finances.
Oats and I have a tumultuous on-again-off-again relationship so I'm not really sure if sexy or cool points are worth the heartache.

Agreed. I like quinoa, and there are certain things where I strongly prefer it over other grains, I use rice/oats/wheat products a lot more.

for the price of 1kg quinoa I can get ~12kg rice/ 11kg flour/wheat / 6kg oats.

quinoa is cool, but in my experience, it's not as versatile.
Rice. is. awesome. Delicious. Both brown and white. Other than being tasty, coming in a delicious jasmine variety, and being used for sushi, sweet rice can be used for desserts and other things - like mochi, or sweet sticky rice, or daifuku, plus more. Can quinoa be made into those things? No? Well then.

Wheat is awesome and the voting is difficult when you like all the grains....except oats. Ultimately, I threw my vote to the grain that I use most often. Wheat, rice, and quinoa are all favorites in my book.

Welcome to my world? Haha. Weren't there quite a few gluten-intolerant peeps kicking around the boards? I think that's probably the reason wheat is lagging so far behind the others.
