Dudes I Totally FINALLY Quit My Job!
WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Ahh, that feels good.
I put in my two week's notice at GameStop a couple of days ago... then last night I started searching for jobs and emailed my resume to a nice-looking law office that needs a part-time receptionist. This afternoon I got a call for an interview TOMORROW!
So that gave me a great excuse to go out and buy some snazzy dress clothes. OH! And some adorable high-heels.
I feel so great! I hated my job so much... and it's only gotten worse every year. It wouldn't be so bad if I were a part-timer, but being an Assistant Manager and having to deal with every problem that comes down the line with no support from my district manager or other stores in my city was too much (my manager is a great guy, and I was only staying through Christmas to help him out). I got yelled at by a customer and subsequently undermined by other locations and then belittled by my DM for the LAST DAMN TIME.
My last day is November 23rd... before Thanksgiving, even! Which means NO BLACK FRIDAY! I can totally enjoy my holidays NOT working in retail! And I may have a very nice job in a place with normal hours: no evenings, weekends, or holidays! I should have done this a long time ago, but I guess the time just wasn't right. Now I can concentrate on my final exams and while I won't have as much money I will certainly be a happier person.
Everyone wish me luck with my job search (with any luck it will end tomorrow!).

Yup. There are jobs that could pay a million bucks a minute and STILL wouldn't be worth it. Not if they dry up your soul and reduce your brain to quivering, pain-filled mush.

Thank you so much for all the positive thoughts and support! You guys rock! I'm so excited! But I did dream that I walked in circles all through the city and couldn't find the office where I am supposed to go.
But that's a totally normal dream for the night before an interview. I already found the group of buildings, because I'm OCD like that.
