Carmenmichelle,

I think I remembered you telling us that you were planning to run the Atlanta marathon this year?  Is that the same as this ocming Sunday's ING Georgia Marathon?  If so....GOOD LUCK!!!  Enjoy relaxing and tapering for the rest of this week.....and go into Sunday's race feeling excited and confident.  Whatever happens, just remember:  you have over 26 miles to go--and plenty of time to make up for any early lapses in pace, etc.

HAVE FUN out there.  You are an inspiration to ALL of us.  We'll be cheering for you in spirit.

luv cheerio

I also want to wish good luck to Carmenmichelle!  You are an inspiration to me, I hope to run a marathon one day.

Also, for all you other runners out there, here's a site I love:

www.favoriterun.com

Lots of satelite/map images for you to map out your routes and find out how far you're going. You can also log your time, search for other routes by zip code, etc.  It's pretty cool!

yay! thanks so much for your thoughts and encouragement!
i'm not running in the ING marathon...but the peachtree road race
it's only a 10k, but the hill at the end "heartbreak hill" is what separates those who "finish" and those who "don't"..
it's on july 4th.

Cool site deuceO!  Now I don't have to pollute the air by using my car's odometer for this.  Bad Aimee!

;D  That is what I used to do apstaats!  I love the site, I discovered a few roads I didn't know existed, plus it's cool for trails and stuff that you can't drive your car on.  Well...I guess you could but probably be a bad idea... :D  I'm glad you liked the site!

I just checked out the "favorite run" site and none are listed within 20 miles of my home! There is great hiking (world class...the Appalachian Trail starts near me), rock climbing, and biking where I live. Running is something I see so few do here. I am the only one in my neighborhood that runs. Heck. most of my neighbors could not even "walk" the whole subdivision (only 3.2 miles w/ hills) without having a heart attack. They do know how to sit in a big SUV waiting in line at Micky D's for breakfast though! I guess I will have to continue charting my own runs, then post them there.
