Hello vegweb, i really like going throu the site finding great recipes.. i already made a few including the chai tea, which was awesome..
but i have a dilemma.
My dad really likes drinking dr peppers, not because of the caffeine, but because of the flavor.
today he went to the doctor, and the first thing he needs to cut out of his diet is dr pepper...
if there is any recipe any one here might have that can mimmic the flavor and taste of his favorite carbonated beverage, please please help me out.. it would be greatly appreciated :)
if anyone has a crack at it, please chime in.
Hmmm...is it the sugar he needs to cut out? What about Diet Dr Pepper? Or Coke Zero? Replace some of the Dr. Peppers with diet and the rest with water?

Carbonnated water helps me when I want somethin a little bubbily, brands like H20) and La Croix, they have flavors like lime and lemon....they also sell many organic-colas (by Blue Sky, etc..) These still have cane sugar, so they wouldn't be appropriate for a diabetic or someone trying to loose weight, but they may help him transition off of the Dr. Pepper.
Good luck with everything!
I don't know of anything that mimics the flavor of soda without being some version of it. *But* I loved it, and gave it up completely, and it was great to have some good alternative beverages during that transition. Tea can be good because it has a little caffeine, and you can get different flavors, and you can sweeten it with something better than corn syrup (like agave or stevia or whatever you're not opposed to). A really cool option is kombucha, which is fermented tea, because it also has the carbonation like soda.
