Next month will be vegetarian 120 days

Yep.... May 8th I will be a "Dirty Vegan" ;) for 4 months.... never felt better.

This coming Tuesday my son is having brain surgery (cavernous malformation), as far as brain surgery its a fairly routine operation, will be out  Thursday early most likely.

The reason I'm posting this is that we've decided to go to Florida Hospital in Orlando instead of having his surgery here in Brevard county... better surgeons. While getting pre op testing done yesterday my son and I were told not to be suprised about meals being served to patients and visitors...the hospital is meat free... yep vegatarian. My son looks over at me and starts laughing his ass off.... says I knew about it all along.

Wish us luck, maybe I'll have another vegetarian in the family.

Sounds like he's in good hands... what a great hospital idea! Hope everything goes smoothly & well, and all that healthy food helps him recover quickly & easily!  :)

I got my BSN from Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences, so I'm sure I know of the vegetarian hospital you're speaking of....it's 7th Day Adventist, but more importantly a top notch hospital.

All the best to you and your family.  Congrats on your anniversary!

Well were back home, everything went good. Florida Hospital Orlando (Nuerosurgical Institute) is unreal. My son is extremely lucky... was diagnosed with a Cavernous Malformation after a seizure and MRI. Doctors here (in our county Brevard) said either stay medicated or choose to have it removed, our choice. After seeing Dr. Rosen and Dr. Hellinger at the Orlando Nuerosurgical Institute near the hospital in Orlando they highly suggested to have surgery and not to wait too long.

Well good thing.. what was thought to be a Cavernous Malformation turned out to be an AV Malformation... a ticking time bomb hes had probably since birth. The seizure was due to his body being worn out... was fishing all day in the ocean with a friend and almost had heat exhaustion. without the siezure an MRI wouldnt have been taken. 88% of AVMs are discovered during autopsies....

Sorry for the long post, everyting is great...

and to keep the post close to the subject matter the food was great.. but not enough to swayy Sherm to be a vegetarian...
