i'm trying and i need some help!

hi everyone :]

my dad raised me to be vegan until i got my hands on a chicken nugget when i was about 4 or 5 and it's all been downhill from there. now that i am 19 and well overweight, i am ready and excited to get back to the vegan lifestyle! (after about 14/15 years)

i was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how i can get started again. i'm afraid that i'll give up and go back to my disgusting ways of eating now. i need some tips and pointers on how to make sure i go about this the right way and can sick to it for good! any opinions/positive comments are appreciated :]

thanks guys!

Remember that habits aren't changed overnight. You might start by cutting out certain types of meat from your diet, for example a month without chicken, then a month without pork, etc, until you're a vegan.

I am a lacto vegetarian (my vegan friend refers to me as being lazy because of this) but I eat 2-3 vegan meals a day. What helps me continue to cook and eat vegan is reading about a. the conditions that the non-human animals are subjected to (I haven't been able to eat eggs since reading A Diet for a New America) and b. reading about what things like dairy does to our bodies. I'd like to have a nice quality of life when I'm older and the only way I'm able to do that is by being conscious of what I put into my body. It might be a pain in the ass for you to transition, but you're doing your future-self (as well as the world around you) a favor.

I will say that just because you're overweight doesnt mean you're unhealthy. Society has a negative perception of diverse body-types (especially in the mainstream media) so just ask yourself, are you eating good healthy food, staying active, and living a happy life? If so, you're good. Fuck the scale.
