What do you collect?

I'm not big on collecting things but I have a small hand bell collection, including the school bell that was used in the second school I taught in. I also have and odd plate collection. When I see an unusual or particularly attractive dinner or serving plate I'll buy it and use it for serving cakes, cookies, sandwiches, etc... So, what do you guys collect?

In a resealable, air-tight, BPA-free jar. Right next to the canisters I use for my dried beans and flour(s) from the bulk bins. ;)
Heirloom seeds, espcially tomatoes. I need to get into a 12 step program for vegetable gardeners. http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=31661.0
I collect silly cow things. (big surprise for a veghead, right?? hehe)
My favorites so far are my matching cow salt and pepper shakers (they have swirly mustaches painted on), and my cow cookie jar. :)>>> I find almost all of them at local thrift stores. I have wayyy too many...
I collect vintage/antique military rifles and other war relics.
My collection gives me the opportunity to engage people discussions on the insanity of war - the ultimate failure of civilization.
Don't know if this will make me sound interesting or like an alcoholic, but I like to save beer bottles so one day, when I go to Michigan to visit family, I can return the bottles for 10 cents each. I threw a bunch away because I thought it made me seem like an alcoholic to have a buch of empty beer bottles in my room. I want to save up enough to like go on a vacation....with beer bottles.
Okay, it makes me just seem weird..

Do you live in Michigan? Don't the bottles say what state they are redeemable in? I know in CA it actually says CA CRV or has CA circled if there are more states listed on the bottle... So even if I wanted to I redeem my bottles in Michigan I couldn't... Just wondering if it is the same everywhere?

There was an episode of hoarders where a guy was doing that.

That show makes me puke, although I could probably be on that show in ten years. I should probably stop doing that.

I think it is Basement Cat's grandkitty, Susan Sto Helitkitty.
Vinyl.
I don't have an official count, but I'd be willling to guess it's well over 3,000 records.
;D I take it you don't move too often.
This post makes me so sad. When I moved to Nashville from California, I had to leave behind about 1,000 records and I sold a bunch of stuff I didn't listen to. I literally have like 300 records here in Nashville and no turntable to play them on. Sad :( :( :(
I collect recipes...compulsively...more recipes than I'll ever have time to make in my life. Drawers and binders full of them. it's pathetic, really.
;)
I also collect songs. I love learning new songs, especially folk songs, songs from other countries, arias, lieder...
And vocabulary. I'm kind of a language geek.
At least those last two things don't take up shelf space.
I collect anything matryoshka.

please tell me you didn't leave all the hardcore and 90s emo records!!! that stuff is seriously what i am looking for. i have a tiny notebook with the records that i am looking for that i put in my front pocket every single day, just in case i wander into a record store and need to know what i don't already have. something tells me that i should start looking in nashville....
i also collect colored and picture vinyl for a future art project. i have acquired a talent for just barely pulling out the sleeve to see if the record is at all interesting.
lately i've also been saving beer bottles from rare or quirky bombers i drank. but i'm too broke to actually drink anything super awesome so i doubt this hobby will last long.

I left most of it behind, yes. What are you looking for? I have some 7" stuff here, but not too many LPs. I have tons and tons of hardcore and 90's emo, too. Like, lots an lots and lots.
