Pants and Rips

I have about half a dozen jeans that have a large rip on the inner thigh near the crotch. It's the same rip, in the same place in every pair. I was told because of the location that you can't put a patch on it and that they are totally useless now. I'm hoping that someone here knows of a way that I can save them. I don't have a sewing machine and I can't say I sew very well or anything but if anyone has any suggestions, it would be really helpful.

You can patch them. I have pants like that too.

Just get a piece of an old tshirt (make it like at least 1 inch around bigger than the rip.) And hand sew it on the inside of it.
If that makes sense.

Yepp, it does! I'll give it a try, thanks :)

sometimes you can find denim patches too, so that at least it's a closer match. That or just cut up some old denim. Back stitch or another strong stitch is good, because the fabric of your jeans in that area is probably already worn thin and won't hold stitches as well.

I used to have this problem all of the time!  I would blow out the thighs of all of my jeans - basically because they were cheap, thin material....and my thighs are pretty huge....
But I just bought some denim patches and they did the trick, for a little while at least...it did look weird if I was sitting with my legs open though...

It hasn't happened to any of my Silver jeans yet, thank god!  but they are pretty damn thick - and expensive!

I use Tshirts so that it can stretch and not re-rip.

I really hate how often it happens.

If you don't want to go to all the hassle of cutting out and sewing on patches, you can get a few pairs of bicycle shorts or leggings.  Put them on underneath your pants and nothing will show.

^I never thought of that. I'll probably do a combination of the two because I have a lot of them and I'm just not very good at sewing.

I think once I get a decent amount of money I should buy at least a couple of pair of really good quality pants. Any recommendations?

If you want the worlds best jeans - Silver!
I don't know about pants....I wear jeans everyday, for every occasion....or maybe a skirt if I've shaved....

Silvers come in boy sizes, so like 32/36....and yeah, where I get them they have a million short sizes, and very few tall ones for me....but I still love them!
I don't know if you have The Buckle, but that's where I get them...
