Mason Jar Help?

I have several empty mason jars just waiting to be filled with sauces, milks, dips, and other vegan goodies, but I can't get all the residue off from the label. Soap and water worked on some of them, but most seem to be pretty stubborn. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Have you tried nail polish remover?
I had several that had that problem that I was able to get off with olive oil. I simply put olive oil on my fingers and ran it across. Some become more gooey and you can peal them right off.
I usually fill my sink with warm soapy water and rub it off underwater.....otherwise Goo Gone or something similar.
