Making a mask for a masquerade party

My dear, creative veggie friends,

Please help me figure out how to make a mask for a Valentine's Day masquerade party.

I don't know where to begin.

Thanks!

eta: a picture, as an example...

It's here and it's freakin awesome.  The pictures do it no justice!  Thank you so much, Cali!  :)>>>

YAY!!! I am so glad you got it in time.

Whew!

I hope the hand stitching holds up, though I dont think its sturdy enough for so much abuse that could wreck it.  I hope it works with your outfit!  Now show us pics.  Pretty please!

The mask was a HUGE hit.  I got compliments on it all night.  I can't wait to get the pics from my friends so that I can show it off.  I had a wonderful time.

Thanks again Cali!!!

I saw 12, and they are cute! I liked that one other person's mask (too) with the hangey-down-bead-things.

Maybe it was only 12.  There are three types of economists: those that can count and those that can't.  ;)

That is my friend Emily.  It was a recycled Egyptian costume turned backwards!
