dumb... didn't he steal money from his haiti or something? scandalous
sorry haiti charity yes... i dunno i'm not down with it... another stupid celebrity trying to get attention and pretending to be a decent human being
I don't know about Wyclef Jean specifically....but in general I feel that it's dangerous when celebrities start to act like they are experts on something besides their craft/celebrity status. For instance, Tom Cruise should not be taken as a source for smart medical advice until he has gone to medical school and completed some kind of training other than religion and webmd. On that line of reasoning, unless Wyclef shows some kind of documented learning experience in the field of politics and leadership then I don't think he's a good candidate for presidency.
Don't know if it's a good idea, but how can he NOT get elected? He's like Haiti's Bob Marley, everybody loves him there! I know he is a great supporter of humanitarian organizations, a great musician and a very intelligent person. But are these the makings of a great politician? One that Haiti needs during it's most desperate hour? I honestly can't say.
I've recently read that he will be unable to run as president because he hasn't lived in the country for five years prior to running. I believe he will be appealing this decision but I certainly think that it wouldn't be a bad thing if he couldn't run. Haiti needs a really solid, honest, bureaucrat in office right now to tidy up the mess, not a untested celebrity who can only talk the talk and has no political experience.

Angelina Jolie strikes me as someone who could be an expert due to all the humanitarian work she's done over the years.
