In the opinion of many loyal VegWebbers, the official response by VegNews is severely lacking.
THIS thread explains it a bit further.
I know that many businesses, particularly in the media industry, have to deal with issues via press releases from time to time. There's often an entire team of people who have to agree on what to write, then edit, re-edit, and eventually release a statement that is representative of the business at large. Sometimes a press release is written by only one PR person, or it's rushed out to the public in order to appease the upset masses.... but whatever the case may be, the unapologetic response by VegNews is one that has not been effective at calming the raging waters.
One might say that it has made things even worse.
I wonder if VegNews will reply with something a little less self-promoting, more specific to the future of their (hopefully now vegan ONLY) photo spreads, and a lot more sincerely apologetic.
I also hope my comments don't get deleted...
Totally agree with carrot. I think their response made it worse, not better. There was no apology and worse, no commitment to change or improve!
There's a fair amount of positive ideas for VegNews to consider in THIS thread, Laura.
Let's have VegNews give a proper apology and a plan for immediate change!
VegWebbers and VN subscribers will test recipes and take photos for FREE.
Please take Our comments into consideration, because it's the only way for VN to earn back the respect they've lost in the veg community and so many subscribers...
And for the love of all things right and good....
PLEASE tell VN to stop deleting Our comments.
ETA: apparently others can see my comment, but I still cant...? Who knows.... Other people have been censored since this thing began a few days ago, so my position stands.
Laura, I know this isn't Your fault, and that the pressure is on You to maintain VN's image on here.... but can You please tell whoever is in charge of this crap to knock it off?
They're only digging themselves into a deeper hole.....
