TJ's breakfast patties!

Every now and again I like to open up my freezer, heat something up really quick, and eat.  Well I have found some AWESOME AWESOME "sausage" patties at Trader Joes that allows me to do just this.  They are just called "Trader Joe's Breakfast Patties" and are in the frozen foods section by the other non-meats.  They are completely vegan (yea!) and relatively inexpensive ($1.99 for 6) unfortunately they are kind of small...  Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts how I could recreate this taste and texture at home.

Here are the ingredients:
Water, Textured soy protein, Wheat gluten, Soy protein concentrate, Evaporated can juice, Natural vegetarian flavour (natural extractives, yeast), Salt, Cellulose gum, Spices, Dehydrated onion, Expeller pressed canola oil.

I thought about mixing all those things together and hoping for the best but I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas for me first...  Bonus points if you can figure out how I can incorporate my VitaMix into the recipe (I am into blending anything and everything lately!)

And if you have not tried these, you must at some point.  YUM!

They're awesome on the Tofu "McMuffins" recipe here on VW.  I make those at least once a week (well...on the days I don't feel like going to McDeaths and getting the "real" thing.... :o

That's a great idea DD...  Now I just need to figure out how to recreate the experience at home....  I know someone out there must have an idea...  :-\

When you cook gimme lean at home, it develops nearly the same texture.

Can anyone telll me how to cook gimme lean without having it stick to the pan? I use a non-stick pan and even some oil and it still sticks so much I don't like to use the gimme lean. It's too frustrating. :(

I use a little bit of non-stick spray on the george forman grill.  Still stick a tiny bit but not near as bad as it does in a pain.  Plus it cooks a lot faster.

Dave- Thank you for posting this recipe!  This morning I woke up and drove to my local Hannaford and bought everything to make the "vagan mcmuffins" (minus the scrambled tofu and english muffins), but still had the vegan sausage, bacon and cheese on a bagel....it absoultely made my day!!!!!!
