Seattle

i just discovered this site a couple of weeks ago and it has already been a great resource for me. I was raised vegetarian and after a few years of straying I have been back on a lacto-vegetarian diet for the past 2 years. So, this may be off topic but I am planning on moving to Seattle in the next 6 months and I was wondering if there are any members located in Seattle that I might be able to get some advice from as far as different neighborhoods and their proximity to transportation, markets, etc. Maybe this is something to be discussed offline? I'm not sure the protocol. Thanks!

OMG im moving to Washington also and i would like to tell you there is a few threads here on the Seattle topic! the people on this website are awesome, they have been a lot of help to me. hope this helps... :)

Welcome to Vegweb Ranifp!

I live east of Seattle, so I couldn't really help you with specific questions about neighborhoods/transportation, but here are some links to threads about markets in the area:

i live east of seattle, too.  i live in renton.  i never thought to see if there were fellow vegwebbers in my area.  i just moved here about a year ago.  i don't have any friends yet!

i wish it could be like when i was in school and i could go up to someone and say, "be my friend!"

i'm from seattle, before i moved to new york. lame.

there is a vegan dounut place - mighty o - in green lake. yum!

i find there are a few good places. there are a few vegan places in the U District. pizza, a vegan grocery... can't remember the names. been in NY too long  ;D

mighty-o is amazing.

the vegan grocery is sidecar for pig's peace, which is small but amazing, and the pizza place is pizza pi.  there's a cap hill pizza place that has really, really good vegan pizza too, but i forget the name - it's kinda near bauhaus? on pine?

Pizza Pi is incredible! http://www.pizza-pi.net/ And you don't have to go out of your way to find a vegan restaurant, the only time Ive ever had a problem ordering vegan is when I am eating out outside of Seattle!  But seriously, we are awesome.

Off-topic: Northwest Animal Rights Network http://narn.org/ is an awesome seattle-based animal rights group.
