How can I order a vegan meal for my flight with Delta?

This isn't actually a poll, obviously but I really need help. I'm travelling from Johannesburg to Atlanta George on Dec. 14 and I want to order a vegan meal. Only i don't know how and I know some one on here must know so if you do please help!!! Thank you in advance!
When you buy the ticket online it should give you a meal option and there it will give you the option of a vegan meal.
I always call like 2-3 days before the flight to confirm I have a vegan meal. I usually say I'm doing a vegetarian meal request then ask if they vegan option, which they usually do.
I don't know how long your flight it is, but I always bring clif bars, dried fruit, nuts, granola, etc, maybe even a sandwich. My experience with long haul international flights is that the lunch/dinner "vegan" meal is vegan, but the breakfast "Vegan" meal is different than the everyone elses but usually contains milk yogurt and buttery croissant. If you're going to be on a flight with breakfast make sure you pack yourself something as back-up.
Oh just saw the JNB-ATL thing, definitly bring back ups! That's one long flight, I did it 2 years ago, the best part is the random layover in Senegal :-\
If it isn't giving you the option sign up for their frequent flyer program for free and log into your account so you can change things in your flight, like your meal option. If you see "Vegetarian" it should be strict vegetarian/vegan. Always be sure to call 24-48 hours before your flight to confirm your meal, and when you check-in ask again at the ticket counter.
Call their customer service line. It's very easy to order a vegan meal!!
Delta has a strict vegetarian meal. I had to pick a couple cheese shreds off my salad, but everything else was safe :)
