Help..Im going to Ewing NJ for Christmas

Im going to Ewing NJ for Christmas and I was planning on cooking my stuff then packing it but  I dont really know if you can bring food on a plane now that so many rules have changed. Ive tried looking up places that does catering but it looks like im SOL. So if anyone can give me some tips or advice that would be awesome. Also just to let you know we are arriving on christmas day so I wont have time to buy things from whole foods to cook when I get there

Could you order from WF and have someone pick it up for you the day before? WF is typically open on Christmas Eve Day (at least I think I remember that from last year??) so you could have it for Christmas Day?

i would ask my family to pick up a few veggies for me.. or ask them to set aside some of theirs before they add butter/milk to them.  also, maybe a can of chickpeas and you could do chickpea cutlets.  i made some tonight and theyre very easy, i also read somewhere online that the wheat gluten isnt 100% neccessary (in case youre afraid of trying to bring that on a plane).. otherwise its just breadcrumbs and seasonings pretty much.  you can also get one of those Hain brand mushroom gravy mixes and bring that along with you (it should be totally ok on the plane since it's sealed up)  put that with some veggies and it's a pretty good xmas meal!

If you're traveling within the country and you don't have anything liquid, you should be fine.

Check with the airline to be sure, but as long as your foods are properly packaged you shouldn't have trouble. I always take snacks with me in my purse, I've taken fruit and vegetables in ziplock bags, and all sorts of other non-labeled things in my suitcase. Never had an issue.

Email or call your airline to make sure, though.

I have a friend who works for TSA (is that what it is? The airport security?) and she said that people bring food in their luggage all the time.

Yeah, come to think of it, like the only things you can't put in luggage that you're checking would be, like... flammable stuff and weapons.

And you can even bring weapons with a permit!

Food is a customs-thingy. You have to claim any food you bring from another country. You don't go through customs when you travel within the US, so you're good to go. Nothing to worry about at all. No need for catering or anything.

Pack & go.... have a great time!
