Boston vegans-- Fiore's Italian Bakery

My friend and I went on a vegan food adventure in Boston this weekend after representing Cafe Indigo at Earth Fest and we ended up stopping at two places nither of us had ever visited before. First we stopped at Wheeler's for some ice cream (okay ice cream before lunch, don't hate me) and then we went to Fiore's in Jamaica Plains and damn. It was incredibly fabulous delicious. They have only a few vegan entrees but I tried their vegan pizza which had a tofu walnut ricotta which was really decadent and good and the pizza was topped with black olives, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, red peppers, fresh basil, spinach and most likely more veggies I can't remember. My friend tried the Earth Kit wrap and said it was pretty good as well, veggies in a tomato basil wrap with some hummus.

However good our lunch was we were quite distracted as we kept eyeing the bakery display case filled with vegan yummies including a strawberry cake, pina colada cake, chocolate peanut butter cups, several kinds of cupcakes, the most incredible vegan brownie ever, a fruit tart and a chocolate-nut tart.

If you are in the area and haven't been to check out the desserts at this place yet, do so as soon as possible. We enjoyed everything we ate and it was all VERY reasonably priced. I got a mini chocolate tart, small piece of pina colada cake and a huge, fudgy brownie with strawberry and chocolate frosting all for just over 9 dollars. I also got the impression that their bakery menu changes daily so I'm sure if you went in you'd be greeted by some other vegan delights  ;)b

Great call on Fiore's.  I was in the area and remembered this post and decided to give it a try.  Definitely one of the better little bakeries I have been to.

thanks again

This bakery ROCKS!  I visit Boston once a month and always make time to stop by Fiores!  Everything is always fresh, warm, and delicious!
It makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

I have to add to the praise for Fiore's! I went there yesterday on my day-trip to Boston. My DH each got a different sandwich so we could try half of each. One was the Nonna sandwich, which was breaded eggplant, cashew cheeze, roasted red peppers, and other stuff (lettuce, tomato??) on the most mouthwateringly delicious foccacia bread. This sandwich was drool-worthy! The other one we tried was the Pirate sandwich, which was herb-marinated seitan strips, roasted red peppers, olive tapenade, artichokes, spinach, and other stuff (?) on ciabatta. Again, really good sammie but I think the Nonna was better. We were so stuffed that we didn't have room for desserts, but they did have an impressive selection of vegan cookies, a brownie, and several cupcakes. This place is really small so seating is cramped but the sandwiches were incredible. I highly recommend it!!

After dinner (at Addis Red Sea Ethiopian in Cambridge) we went to Wheeler's and split some peanut butter and jelly ice cream...oooooohhh....this was incredible!  :^
