what should i do with protein powder?

i bought some vanilla soy protein powder the other day mainly because i was like oh look soy! protein! vegan! and now i dont know what to do with it heh. theres smoothies, but what else can i do with it?

I'm not sure Ponycakes!.  I"ve bought some before too but usually end up throwing it out because I don't use it before it goes bad.  But good luck!

Excellent and timely question. I have a big jar of vanilla rice protein powder and I've been wondering if I can bake with it subbing out a couple of tablespoons of flour for the protein powder.

I have a tried and true omni-recipe for "power cookies" that uses vanilla protein powder. They're AMAZING, but i haven't finished veganizing 'em yet. Still, I bet you could use vanilla protein powder in other cookie recipes. It blends right in, adds a little bit of sweetness, and gives you an excuse to eat more cookies! I only used one scoop of powder in my recipe... I had to eat a lotta cookies to get the nutritional benefits!!!  ;D

Along those same lines, I bet it wouldn't be bad to throw some protein powder into lots of baking recipes. The first thing that pops into my mind is the chai tea marathon breakfast muffins http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=11497.0. The vanilla powder will make it a bit sweeter so you might cut the sugar down a little bit... and you may have to add just a bit more liquid. If I were you I'd take a look at the ingredients and sugars in the powder and alter some of your favorite baking recipes a bit accordingly.

I am going to make the blueberry muffins and add a couple of tablespoons instead of some of the flour as soon as it gets cool enough to turn on my oven.

i follow this as a basic recipe, but add about 1/2-1 cup of soymilk, leave out the oil, and add the powder.

I recently made these Energy Bars with protein powder. It's a simple, no bake recipe. I replaced most of the corn syrup though with malted barley syrup and agave nectar. Made a second batch because they were so good and gobbled up fast by my friends.

Saskia:  I definitely want to try them too.  Do you store them in the freezer until ready to eat?

Thanks!

I stored them in the freezer overnight. Moved them to the refrigerator the next morning so they were nice and chilled and chewy by Noon that day.
