Suggestions on how to get those tiny layers?  I think that I have the cake, frosting, and filling covered.

i assume you mainly need help w/ evaporated milk (everything else seems straightforward)? I once did evaporated milk in a recipe with double concentration of dry soy milk powder to water.

Is there an alternative to 10 cake pans?

Any suggestions for how to stack that thing?

I have access to MimicCreme, so that's probably what I would use.

You could always double/triple the amount in a few pans, and try to slice layers out of a taller cake. Wouldn't be easy, but I've cut cake layers before. ...just not super thin ones

Ok! I'll bring some razor blades.

You might be able to cut small layers with a cake leveler.
I've never used one though so I'm not sure, but they're just a couple dollars at Michaels.

eta. I looked a little online and a few sites show cakes like that that were apparently done with levelers.

You could definitely use a cake leveler.  I love mine.  I've used it it many times to get baby layers.  They've got notches in the side and you slide the "blade" up or down depending on the size of layer you need.
