vegan verson vs omni

today i had soy jerky for the frist time and it was so verry verry yummy :) i have never been a fan  of meat jerky  and its the same way with cows milk , ive never darnk a  whole glass  of moo juice yet i can down a litter of non dairy milk in a day. i am i the only one who perfers  vegan versions over the orginals?

omg you are NOT the only one.  I seriously used to hate dairy milk.  I only came to terms with it because I thought I needed it for my bones.  But I could never heartily drink it down like I can do with soy milk.

And soy jerky is the best!  I've never had animal jerky though, so I can't compare.

I'm almost the opposite....Not that I could ever drink a glass of milk.  It's just that I can't drink a glass of soymilk , reminds me too much of trying to choke down a glass of cow milk when I was younger.  I can use it for cereal fine but can't drink the stuff straight up.

I hated soy dairy milk but love non-dairy milks also..

but for jerky...the smell of real meat jerky smells like my husbands burps after eating steak...seriously makes me want to puke so I can't imagine it tastes good but for that reason I have never tasted soy jerky either...the burp smell/jerky association is too disgusting.

eta: that I am a numbskull :-X

I always hated meatloaf growing up, but I love lentil/bean loaf.

Mmmm.... jerky....

I love all kinds of jerky.  The beef part of it makes me sick to think about, but I loved beef jerky.  The vegan kind is good, but I liked the beef kind better.  *gag as I write it - but still true*

Now that I have a dehydrator, I'm going to make the Susan V's Ribz and then dehydrate them to see if I can get a good jerkey.  The recipe takes 3/4 cup water, so I was thinking of adding a cup of barbeque sauce instead.

Mayonnaise is possibly my least favorite condiment ever, but I've never had vegenaise.  I don't know if I can get past my utter hatred for mayonnaise enough to try veganaise.  :-\

I tried vegan jerky for the first time about a month and a half ago before I moved to Texas.  I actually bought it as a joke for my step-dad who's a big hunter/jerky maker.  He tried a piece and then gave me the rest of the bag.  I thought it was ok but I didn't have a reference point to compare it to since I never ate jerky as an omni.

I've never tried vegan jerky. It's just so expensive that it isn't worth it.

I have lots, but here's a just a few...

*Soy shakes are freaken awesome, so yummy - Milk shakes make my stomach hurt

*Tofu scramble is way better than scrambled eggs - I could eat it for every meal of the day

*Veggie burgers, delicious & they have endless possibilities - Beef burgers made me gag, It's been over 17 years since I've had one, but the memory is still vivid.  Ughh, my mom would make me sit at the table until I finished it.  Thank goodness we had a dog.  So disgusting, I feel nauseous just thinking about it.

*Vegan cookie dough and the resulting cookies - stupendous!

*I'm on the veganaise train also  - regular mayo grosses me out.

*Soy,Almond,Rice Milk over cow's milk anyday.  I can't just drink a glass of it though.  Just remind me too much of cow's milk or something.  Not the flavor, just the idea I guess - If that makes sense.

That's it for now
