Substitute for Anchovies

A friend told me about a pasta recipe on The Food Network that used chocolate which I thought sounded very interesting. Unfortunately it calls for finely chopped anchovy fillets. Can anyone suggest a substitute for anchovies? I'd love to try this recipe.

I just found this suggestion by doing a Google search:  For a vegetarian substitute, use 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce or vegetarian Worcestershire sauce mixed with 1/2 teaspoon dried dulse sea vegetable flakes in place of each anchovy fillet. Do you think this would work? And does anyone know of a brand of worshestshire sauce without anchovies? I haven't been able to find one.

I buy Annie's Naturals:

Scroll down on the left hand side of the screen, it is under "organic condiments."

Here it is available at any HFS (Wild Oats, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Sunflower Market), I haven't really looked at regular grocery stores.
