Does anyone know what the trick is to getting muffins that have nice tops that spill over? Haha, this probably sounds like a funny question!

It doesn't! I would like to know, too.
I am dying to make some muffins today... I don't really have a recipe selected but they just sound GOOD.

I have a muffin tin that has cups that are slightly smaller than the standard size. The muffins always seem to spill over the top in just the right way in that tin.

i have definitely made plenty of muffins that do this but i don't remember the recipes. i know i have used some from this site. i would go with the smaller tin thing, or just pour more mix into one cup.

I remember seeing someone ask this in the comments of a muffin recipe here once... and someone (I *think* it was AshleyKimball) said that it helps to make the oven about 50 degrees hotter when you first put the muffins in... then let the oven cool down to the temp you want to bake at.
