Meat Substitutes?

Hello,
I'm still fairly new to the vegetarian world, next month I will have been veg for a year!  I make 2 dinners per night b/c my fiancee eats meat.  I want to make a spicy meatball recipe for the superbowl but I would like to enjoy them too.  Is there a veg replacement for ground turkey in recipes like this?  I use Morningstar farms crumbles but I don't think they would work for making meatballs.  If anyone has any suggestions it would be great appreciated!
Thanks  :)

You might want to look under meat substitutes in the recipe section on this forum.  Other than that, I would probably find a good bean loaf recipe and make it into meat balls instead of a loaf.  Good luck!

I like Yves Veggie Neatballs, but there are lots of other brands depending on where you live. Gimme Lean Beef Flavour is great for forming "meat" balls, and that way you can add extras like vegan bread crumbs, spices, etc.

Nates is a good brand that is vegan.  My meatloving spouse likes it too.  It's a bit pricey, I just bought a small bag for $3.99, but it's fun to splurge every now and then.

Have a good time.

Yves has a veggie ground turkey. I made turkey meatballs out of them, but they almost tasted too meaty and fowl-like for me to be comfortable with. It reminded me too much of meat to buy again, but you might have a different opinion. This product is good for forming meatballs because it is more moist and stick togetherable than Morningstar Farms crumbles. ;

This might sound a little strange, but used this to stuff portobellas last night...
Amy's Texas style veggie burgers, thawed and processed in the food processor w/ some garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, oregano, nutritional yeast, raw oatmeal, and a dash or two of tamari and a little soymilk made a good "meatball"...process until you get a consistancy closer to that of meatloaf mixtures...I used the left overs in spaghetti..I baked the balls (this just doesn't sound right...;P ) in the oven for a little while, and then let them simmer in marinara until ready to serve...turned out good!
