Has anyone brewed their own kombucha? I have a bit of an expensive booch habit, so I'd like to save money and make my own. I'm just a little nervous about the whole process - namely, making sure I don't poison myself :P
Any recommended at-home kits? Tips/suggestions?
I've made my own. I can't seem to get the fizziness I get from the bottled. I've made 3 batches of 4L or something.. My scoby is now dormant in my fridge until I reawaken it. I bought a starter kit from Whole Foods but if you find a scoby you are good to go. I've seen people selling them on ebay and if you ask around on local raw community places, you may find people willing to give them away for free. If you have any questions, let me know.. I am no expert, although I've made it a few times. :)
