help finding nutrional yeast

Hi peeps,
I'm in England in a fairly small town and can't find nutrional yeast anywhere, I'd like to at least try it in the hope that it will help me start on giving up cheese. Does anyone know anywhere in England that does stock it?
BTW, I love this site, everyone is so helpful and really friendly.
Thanks in advance
Did you search online? I know that here (US) you can get it online, just google "red star nutritional yeast". Our Amazon even sells it.
Thanks, I've found Marigold NY online (but not red star, for here anyway) but was hoping I could get it in a shop rather than spending money on P&P but it doesn't look like I'm going to have much luck so I guess I'm paying out!
Thanks though.
I'd gladly mail you some to try (I imagine 1/4 cup would cost little to post), but I guess that's one of the don'ts in the unwritten "personal safety on the net" guidebook. You may or may not like it at first. I certainly didn't. It took me 4-5 months to really warm up to it... and I could never understand its apparent affinity to cheese (needs to be prepared as a sauce or something of that sort for such an effect, I think). I hope you won't have too much trouble finding it... do you ever travel to a larger center? A big modern grocery store would be your best bet, or a cute little natural bulkfood shop. Best of luck to you!!
FYI
I ordered nut. yeast and egg replacer last month from amazon (shopnatural provides it through amazon) becuz vegan essentials was out of stock. anyway i paid $13 in shipping and handling!! my whole order total was only $8 and furthermore when it got here the box said the shipping had only cost $7.... so i was a bit miffed.

It just burns me that shipping is a profit center. I don't mind paying for the actual cost of shipping & of course, handling charges to cover cost of the box & someone to package it, but $6 extra???????? For an $8 order?????? Grrrrrrrrrrrrr >:(
And it must be Murphy's Law of Free Shipping that when you order from a place that offers free shipping with orders of a certain amount, you are always just $1 shy of the amount you need! ::)
All that said, I hate shopping & even amid my grumbling, I prefer mail order to going to a mall or store.
My family all love nutritional yeast. Don't know why but we liked it from the get-go. :) My favorite ways to use it are as a topping for popcorn (family favorite), sprinkled on lentil soup instead of parmesan cheese, stirred into vegetable soup at the end of the cooking, in a tofu-tahini spread, and in a whole wheat-nutritional yeast gravy. Our local health food store doesn't always have it so we started ordering ours from www.bulkfoods.com. It's Red Star brand. I know they ship outside the US but I don't have any idea whether or not the overseas shipping costs are reasonable.
Hi,
I'm in New Zealand and we don't have Nutritional Yeast either, it goes by another name here: Brewers Yeast. Look for that in your supermarket or health food store.
Ah ha, thanks BCSH, that might be why I'm having problems finding N.Y. I did get told by the people in the health food shop that they had brewers yeast but I didn't think it was the same thing. It looks like it is. Thanks for sorting that out for me, I'll go out and get some this weekend and see how I like it (or not as seems to be the case for most people on here!)
