Black rice question

I bought some Thai black rice out of curiousity. I cooked it as I would regular rice but it was less than inspiring. Anyone have any tips or ideas on how to use it? Same question for red rice, which they also carry. DH didn't like the colour. He's worse than a little kid! :D

Have you tried to cook it with veggie stock...? I know this may sound weird but all in all it gives the rice good flavor.  :D
