Anyone else doing something for V-Day? My little university has this planned:
UPCOMING VDAY EVENTS! Help end violence against women.
*February 2-5 & 9-12 @ Lane Center 10-4: VDAY sale with scarves, buttons, jelly bracelets, Vagina soap bars and VDAY Vegan Chapsticks for a donation to the Family Crisis Resource Center and Dove Center.
*February 13 & 14 @ PAC: The Vagina Monologues - Vagina Fair begins at 6:30 followed by the performance.
*February 17th @ Upper Quad 7pm: Take Back the Night March, Rally, and Open Mic Night
I talked to the coordinator and the soaps and some of the scarves (which are ALL handmade!) are also vegan. Yay!

Cool! I didn't even know about that. The Vagina Monologues will be performed at four places near me. I've never seen TVM, but I've wanted to see it. A Yes-on-8er has been trying to get me to do something with her. I loaned her a gay movie to watch (Save Me with Chad Allen). Depending on her feedback from that, I may suggest seeing this together. Or I may go by myself. All of my IRL friends are yes-ers. I don't need any more.
Awesome! In school they would sell "Pussy Pops" which were chocolate on a stick in the shape of a vagina! Don't think they were vegan thought. Also there were always a bunch of pink "Vagina Warriors" t-shirts. Sadly, due to vegantine's prom I will be unable to attend any local events....

Don't "sadly" my prom! :D
JK. I'm going to Vagina Monologues the week before. I can't wait!
VHZ, you should come with me!
The college near me does the Vagina monologues now, and my husband will be helping out again this year. Sadly it's run by students , so I can't participate, but I intend on advertising =-)
I was in it last year, and it was a BLAST. I HIGHLY recommend auditioning for the Vagina Monologues if you like that sorta thing and really want to feel empowered as a woman.
But deifinately see them, tell other people to see them, and love your vagina :)>>>
A friend and I are seeing The Vagina Monologues on my University's campus. One of my undergrads has a part in it!
There's also some sort of silent auction going on, plus lots of vagina-themed things for sale at the booths the women's center is putting up. (Chocolate vaginas, anyone?)
I wouldn't swap working for a University for anything in the world!!
